His driver license. Which the cop told him to get.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol immediately fired him, but far more, they are prosecuting him on a possible 20-year sentence.

Hey California and Ferguson, notice how easy it is to do the right thing? Your police states will not fall apart if you put murdering cops in jail.

That whole situation is completely fucked. The guy totally 'forgot' his training. If you are concerned the person is going to reach for something you do not ask them to get their drivers license until you've either called for back-up, or are in a position of cover. And for that matter, detain the individual first, then ask where the drivers license or whatever else you want may be, etc. This is all because the person is outside of the vehicle during the stop.

You don't shoot someone when asking for their information at the persons window just because they reached for their glove box?

The officer should have told the man to get back into the car and place his hands outside of the window while he approached, or had him turn around and walk backwards towards the officer.

This is why we should not have cops.

Seriously, they do not protect, and they do not serve.

Obviously, you have no credible argument supporting the need for police so you toss out a strawman by simply attacking the messenger rather than debating the message.

If he's bright enough, he already realizes it.

Perhaps but I was hoping you were bright enough not to antagonize him. I don't want to see him in trouble.

Strawman? You specifically say that you are a fictional message board character created for your amusement and your views and don't reflect any real person opinions . . . why would someone what to argue with a fictional character looking to amuse themselves?

It's like you are mocking whoever you are "arguing" with by being able to at any time step back and saying "oh I'm just playing a fictional character saying things for my own amusement, I don't really think that"

Looked like the guy was going for something. The cop was quick on the trigger, but you simply can't move that fast

That guy should have worn his seatbelt. Lesson learned.

Okay, not only is the cop a noob with protocol, the guy is also a noob with a gun. The asshole fired like 3-4 shots and hit the dude in the leg?! It's good that he's off the force because next time, he may shoot innocent people that are in the area.

Yeah. The officer was teaching the driver that you could die if you don't wear your seatbelt.
