So thinking about franchise priorities, started thinking about this list: ARod, 3B or DH....or released? Top pitching FA - Scherzer, Lester, Shields and McCarthy SS - ad hoc, FA or trade (Cubs have a pair of talented youngsters) RF and 1B is a concern...read Beltran and Tex. DRob, let him walk or keep and move to the 8th inning? Bullpen depth Health questions for CC, Nova and Tanaka.
A-rod, the Yankees need to find a way to vanquish him from the team. I'd try Mc Carthy at the right price. Lester or Shields short term only, heard the Tiger Broadcasters state that Detroit may make another run at Scherzer. Agree on SS try a trade with the Cubs the available FA SS will want a fortune. Resign D-rob at the right price then make Dellin the closer. CC, Beltran are "wait & see" but the Yankees need to look at the "what ifs" when the start their after post season meeting. Fire Cashman in favor of a GM who will can sign better and younger players at with smaller playchecks.
Release A-Rod should be done, but he'll likely be a 50/50 3B/DH Go after Scherzer & Shields, offer McCarthy a 1 year deal SS will be attempted to be filled by a big name (Tulo?) But will fail to live up to an impossible standard Keep DRob, but move him to 8th I think Nova & Tanaka will be fine, CC will never throw a truly meaningful inning again IMO 1B will be rough unless Tex retires same w/ Beltran.... Although, Beltran could be more of a bench warmer

I'm surprised you didn't ask: what exactly does "truly meaningful" mean? Or do you just pick and choose when you want to be inquisitive? lmaoooo You're too much..... lol I love it!
...you're really so obsessed with me that you felt the need to reply to the same post of mine twice?...and then throw a "lol" in there as a 3rd reply? ...strange that you didn't have a problem with Hammer's post...only that I "agreed" with it...very strange. ...nice to know I'm in your head...what's the view like down there as you're riding my nut sack?

Capuano isn't the lefty starter next year, and neither is CC. I expect the Yanks will offer big money to Lester, but in the end he signs elsewhere.
...like I said earlier in the thread, I think the Yanx would benefit more from a LHed ace like Lester than the some of the others on the FA market. Besides, Capuano doesn't have it and unless he makes a miraculous turnaround, and I don't think he will, CC is no better than a #4 starter., which is about what he's been for the last 2 years. ...playing 1/2 their games at home with the RF seats beckoning to LHed opposing batters, Lester could be invaluable. ...btw, anyone think there's a possibility that Lester and the Sox' management had a covert/clandestine meeting before he was traded in order to bring him back to Boston next year? ...something like a wink and a handshake agreement of a new contract offer?...I know that's against the rules but....just a thought.
Scherzer turned down what 125 mil from the Tigers, talk on MLB about him being the 200 mil man, ridiculous stay with Detroit. Again per MLB the Royals may or may not give Shields his payday, and again per MLB there is talk of Lester going back to Boston. McCarthy is considered to be the number 4 man in the group, would like to see him back for the job he did. Next season Shields will be 34, McCarthy 33, the others 31 so any deals should be cropped. If McCarthy is passed and the Yankees could get one of the big three I'd go for Lester. If and again I say if, should Tank and Nova return healthy, you've got Pineda and Green for a pretty good four add Phelps maybe as a but. I don't know how the rest of you feel but after watching the "Big Man" fail consistently.
...I assume when you say "big man" you mean CC...in a way, I can see him being healthy next year but then again, we expected the same thing last year when he lost all that weight...maybe he could put some of that weight back on if it helps him to pitch better...most pitchers are not your typical "physical specimens". ...regardless, I don't think CC's velocity will ever return and once he was stripped of that big FB, his change became more hittable, and so did his breaking stuff...unless he makes a very surprising comeback, he's a back end of the rotation starter. And I won't complain about his salary because it's a moot point.
Yep, borrowed that "Big Man" from AJ Burnett, if I wrote what I really felt I'd be banned from the board. Maybe sending him to Burger King for a steady diet of Cheeseburgers prior to Spring Training may help. I remember my first hope that the '14 team would succeed the first game they played Tampa in the Trop. CC threw a 3 hitter, McCann got a bomb, and the Yankees kicked their a@@es.
