Re: UFC 179: Aldo vs. Mendes 2 (Oct/25) Seems like another weak PPV. These UFC cards have really been saturated. They severely lack star power.
Re: UFC 179: Aldo vs. Mendes 2 (Oct/25) 500 fighters 3-4 fights per year 750-1000 fights 12 fights per card 62.5 - 83 cards per year That's bloat.
Re: UFC 179: Aldo vs. Mendes 2 (Oct/25) Is there a good reason why the UFC needs to have more than 25 guys/girls per division?
Re: UFC 179: Aldo vs. Mendes 2 (Oct/25) Chad Mendes has dubbed Jose Aldo the "hermit crab" champion and says his reluctant public persona is bad for the sport.

Was I the only one who thought the "after the buzzer" punch Aldo threw at the end of the first, on replay, was thrown while the buzzer was sounding?
Phil Davis calling out Anderson Silva--any thoughts? Maybe he's got a notion that Nick DUI Diaz isn't going to go through with the fight?
If Phil Davis can sustain that kind of pace in all of his fights, he'll be a handful for anyone. He was the most impressive fighter of the night IMO. The title fight was good, not great and the rest of the fights were mere filler IMO. And yes Speeds, you were the only one he thought Aldo's punch was still on time. He threw two punches, first was right as the buzzer had just started, the 2nd one was clearly after the fact.
