    KANSAS CITY VS BALTIMORE

    SAN FRANCISCO VS ST LOUIS

Make your predictions and the winner gets five minutes alone in a room with Brian Cashman.

The NLCS should be excellent, the opponents have won or participated in the last four World Series. Tough call for one to make. At the beginning of the season I thought that Baltimore would be the team that the Yankee would have to watch closely. I was right in that regard but did not realize that other low riders like Houston would hand them their ass as well. The Kansas City Royals are a team that are on the same s@@t list that I have for the Rays. I think Baltimore takes that series in 7, I always give credit to both for making it. Now that I have my trust old Mossy ready to go where is Cashman?

    Orioles in 6

    Giants in 7

World series = Giants win there 3rd world series in the last 5 years in 7 games.

    I'll bite.

    KC - SF

..and if KC and/or SF should go on to the WS, or win it (yeesh)...there will be renewed talk about "penalizing" the WC winner and giving more of a "reward" to a division winner during the LDS.

And I am already one of them!

I realize KC swept the Angels - The 5 game series just doesn't sit well with me.
If they have to do it...maybe give the WC only ONE home game in the LDS ...2-1-2 set-up. Maybe(?)

Do we really want a possible scenario where a team with maybe 83-85 wins sneaks into the 2nd WC spot, wins the game...then gets a chance to eliminate a team with 100 wins by winning THREE games sooner than the 100 win team? Is this fair for a 162 game season? yikes!

^^^personally, I don't care for the 1 game winner take all WC playoff...and I definitely don't care for the best of 5 games first round format.

Unfortunately though Ron, the season to long as it is. I mean lets say they make the WC the best of 3 & they make the 1st round best of 7 instead of 5. The season would into the middle of November.

IMO I think they either have to..............

    1) Start the season a little earlier
    2) Shorten the season back to 154 games
    3) Play 4-5 double headers during the season.

...I guess I can understand not wanting the PS to spill over into November, but there has to be a way around it...currently there are no scheduled DHs in either league and why they got away from that, I'm not sure but I seem to recall once upon a time several double headers each year that were scheduled ahead of time.

    ...how about this?;

1...start the season 1-2 days earlier. (no need for so many ST games)

2...Have at least 1 scheduled DHer for each team vs the other teams in their division.(4 DHers) (they play each other 18 times now)

...that's 6 days right there. And I'm sure there are other ways trim it some more.

...EDIT: to make the divisional DHers fair, have each team play a home and away DH vs every team within their division...that's 4 more days...for a total of 10.

Your D-Header proposal - YES, agree.
Good old fashion baseball where the MGR has to do a bit more managing - in this case his pitching staff.
And, start the baseball season 3-4 days sooner.
Begin the LDS one day after the wildcard game (this could also be a correction to "penalize" the final WC team).
Begin the LCS no more than 1-2 days after the LDS

    perennial winning Cardinals.

I don't like this set up at all either....

I'd like to see a Series of The Birds....altho'

My take is KC vs Cards, repeat of the 85 Series, with NO Don Denkinger...!

After watching the never say die play of the Royals last night I may have to re-think my predictions.
