Bad to worse for TKZ, Jung Sung-Chan. After fighting once (lost to Jose Aldo, UFC 163) in about the last two years he's off to serve his mandatory military stint back home for the next two years or less. TKZ was supposed to fight Akira Corassani at Fight Night 53 but withdrew due to injury. Some South Korean athletes have been able to defer their military service, such as football star Ju-Young Park, but there is a negative stigma attached to using special privilege.
They can go and get this done between the ages of 18-32. You'd think he'd hold off for another few years but I guess conscription isn't about convenience.
