Yeah, I'm as happy as a pig in shit. Hard to believe it took 35 years 1954-1989 for the Giants to get back into the world series & now they're going to the 3rd in the last 5 years.

Tired of seeing the Giants in the world series are we? And you want to see a team win that hasn't been there for a very long time. I get that Steve so you're forgiven.

While that dumb fuck Cashman is drinking his coffee and reading the sports page this AM he should be thinking back 10 years and hanging his head in shame. From '04 to the present we have seen others doing what that Yankees are supposed to be doing. Boston with 3 series wins, San Francisco with the probability of doing the same. The Yankees win 1, and with a crew of stumblebums finish out of the race two years in a row. For those stats this crud gets to keep his job and will probably get himself fitted for a new toupee with the raise he got. I can't remember the poster here who came up with the Occupy Yankee Stadium idea but its time the fans showed some solidarity and bitched about the actions this team has taken.

I just hate the SF Giants... so I want the Royals to win because it means the Giants would lose... Nothing more then that... don't know who I'd cheer for if it were SF vs Boston... that would suck royally

I say they don't care... they are using the Yankees as a cash cow, nothing more

Giants are currently on historic run- possibly win 3 WS in 5 years.
Not many franchises in modern history can make that claim.

On the other hand - the KC Royals could possibly, possibly have an all-time great postseason run for the ages.

How do the Giants "do it" over these past five seasons?
They have had two excellent players throughout the run..Posey & Sandoval....and a bunch/mishmash of so-so journey men...although the kid 2b Joe Panik could be a solid mainstay for years to come.
They have consistently produced good young starting pitchers...currently Bumgarner...

They (also KC) have been able to both play little ball and get BIG HRs and clutch hits.
The Giants have a good balanced bullpen --INCLUDING a solid lefty who consistently gets HIS batter....he came in yesterday (game5) and got a LHB in a BIG situation with the go-ahead runner in scoring position of a tie game top 9th.

Royals also have a good bullpen - in their case, they are blessed to have THREE overpowering relievers to cover the last 3 innings.

The Cards, Tigers, Orioles, Nationals, A's all lost the battle of the BULLPENS.

one last thing...just for the record...
...I was the only one (of those who responded) who got both LCS winners correct.
    NO applause....please...

Not a Giants fan but I like some of their players. Pence is one gangly awkward looking person but the guy sure can play baseball. Too bed the Yankees didn't go after him when he became available but they had that man among men Nick Swisher. Sandoval looks like he couldn't move out of the way of a slow car but when the games starts he's one agile human being, hits those bad balls like Yogi used to. Pretty gutsy baseball team out there. Not going to go out and buy gear and say I've always been a Giants Fan not true. Had they not gone out to San Fran they might have been my NL Team, liked a lot of there players over the years starting with Say Hey. Am I pissed that the Yankees aren't there, you bet I am, once again Cashman thanks for memorable year, Girardi needs to grab you by the stacking swivel this off season and demand what he needs.

Just out of curiosity, why the hatred for the Giants?

One common denominator in this run is the bullpen

    Affeldt
    Lopez
    Romo
    Casilla

Have been on all 3 teams

Are all very well paid and lights out in the postseason.

I've gotta be honest my friend, Romo scares the shit out of me. Remember he lost his closer role for a reason.

Romo has been incredibly solid for the last few months, to the tune of a less than .500 OPS against. Sure shit can happen but he doesn't scare me if he needs to be in a tough spot.

Hunter Strickland on the other hand...

Didn't he just recently give up the game winner against the Nats?
