Ex Met Dave Magadan a strong candidate after his recent Yankee interview.

Welp, at least he and the hitters can relate to game situations/conditions.
He has a plan, he has a voice, he's played and was a decent hitter....
..heard Chili Davis was also on the list.

    That's good enough for me.
The board has already had a nice go-round regarding the virtues of a "batting coach". lol

    ..wasn't he Lou's nephew?

Yeah I'm sure a new batting coach & a new 1st base coach will add at least 20 wins for 2015. At least they didn't get rid of Cashman I mean Whew! that was close.

    pssst....look down

I think a new batting coach could make a difference for the better...even a slight difference scores a few more runs.

Oh god..I said it.... I'm gone!

I got to agree with ya' 59, Long IMO should still be under contract, and was the scapegoat for Cash-Holes failure(s), and The Stein Kidz ignorance...

I dug this up: on K. Long-

Long was promoted to hitting coach for the New York Yankees in 2007. Long guided a Yankees offense that ranked first in MLB in runs (968), hits (1,656), home runs (201), RBIs (929), team batting average (.290), slugging percentage (.463), on-base percentage (.366) and total bases (2,649). The 968 runs were the most in franchise history since 1937 (979). His offense also featured the AL-MVP A-Roid***, three Silver Sluggers (Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada and Rodriguez) and four of the American League's top-15 batting averages.

After a down year offensively in 2008, Long's Yankee hitters again led the league in offense during the 2009 season, in which they also won the franchise's 27th title, and lead the American League in runs again.

*** Disclaimer: I did not want to add #13, yet such is what it is....did I say I want to see #13 hanging from the flag pole???

...so, you're totally incapable of ignoring something on your own?...sounds like you're the one with the problem.

...do you really think your same lame "old" references don't sound like a "broken record" to some of us?...stop telling people what topics they can and cannot discuss.

...you are the only one complaining, and as I said before, you're whining about "whining"...what a novel idea.

Right...its a message board, I can also talk about your irrational obsession with Long's release. I can be certain of be certain of a few things: (1) Long won't be back, (2) they will hire a new hitting coach, (3) we will argue this topic off and on until one of us calls uncle.

Let's see, I can envision several KPIs to distinguish the Long era vs. His successor.... Plate discipline vs plate agressiveness, bunt, sac and sac fly rates, OBP, and hitting against the shift (going the other way). We should limit the analysis to some key players that have been with Long for awhile. Gardner and Tex...you want anyone else?

So then We can't have Sweet Lou for a Hitting Coach, cuz he was fired....and re-hired....and fired again. I kinda' miss firing and rehiring from the 1st decade of King George....thought I'd never say that, cuz George's obsessive Firing Moves, made me the crazy man I am today....!

I don't have any Uncles left alive, so I'm not calling Uncle....or- Who's your daddy??? How about in lieu of calling Uncle, the 1st to call "Daddy" - Come to PaPa...!

...for about the 4th fucking time, I'll post what I want, when I want, as often as I want...and so will the others.

...we're here to discuss any topic we chose...don't like the topic?...you're not required to respond...hit the back button, ignore it, I don't care, and I don't give a shit what you like and what you don't like.

The art of deflection...well done again. Hey so let me get this straight...its OK for you to talk about anything you want, and by extension I can do the same. But I can't talk about you talking about what you want to talk about. That's basically what your implying, essentially you are saying that I'm trolling/spamming your discussion. I just want to get this straight because the solution you leave me is I'll just go start my own thread about dumb fucks railing about the Long firing.

Ron this much you can be certain of............

If Beltran has a good season it will be because of the NEW hitting coach & not because he'll be healthy for the first time as a Yankee.
If McCann's average goes up by say 20 points it will be because of the NEW hitting coach & not because he's now comfortable in the new league & the pitchers.
If Teixeira regains some of his form it will be because of the NEW hitting coach & not because there's no where else to go but up for him.

I could go on but I think you get the drift.
