Denny and I are working up a proposal to have a permanent seat for the forum on press row. Before we go to the Blazers and ask for this we want to get some feedback from all of you. Some of you are excellent writers and very knowledgeable. Would you be interested in ever representing the forum, sitting on press row, giving us live updates from the game in that night's forum game thread and then doing a write up/report of that night's game? The Blazers might read this thread so lets keep the replies a little more on the serious side.
Yes, please. I don't want to go first, though, I might screw it up for everyone else, lol. EDIT: I'd even swear to do it sober...
I would love to, but I live in Seattle. Maybe when the Blazers play the Sonics? .... Oh nevermind....
I couldn't do this unfortunately as I'm not in town, but if POR sponsors my league pass broadband for the year, I can watch the other team's broadcast for every game and give the outsider's perspective in game threads. Maybe throw in tix for me to go to the POR games in Indy, Det, MIL and CHI??? #notdesperateatall
Seriously, though. This would be a great idea. Maybe do a rotation of writers for the season so it doesn't get stale and more people get a shot.
I think that's a good idea. Will they have access to the site's twitter page to do live tweeting? Or maybe email the twitter account holder to provide pseudo live tweeting?
My objective would be to form a writing team. We all read and write a lot on this site and it's mostly about the Blazers. Some of our best posts are certainly on par with what the pros get published in the newspaper. Whatever we write could end up in the Blazers' game programs, on NBA.com Blazers' site, and so on. If this takes off, I'd be willing to bring up a sister site that's blog oriented to show off our work. I can get into more depth about how this would all work, but I'd like to know that there is sufficient interest first.
I can provide you access to the official RipCityTwo twitter account, you can tweet on that and the Blazers can retweet the posts. They do that to many of the tweets I put on there now.
One of the main aspects this person should bring is writing from the Blazer fan's perspective. I don't care about rationality-- we get that from the local and national writers. The other thing is transparency. If there is an obvious issue wrong with Terry Stotts' decisions, call it out.
I would love to have the opportunity to do something like this, even if only a single time. I don't claim to be particularly insightful, but I certainly would be both reasonable and honest, as well as family-friendly.
This would be so awesome! What a great idea! I can't wait for this to happen!!!!11!1!!!!!!!11 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
