Internet Archive, a site dedicated to the preservation of Web history, has released 900 classic arcade games on its site for users to play completely for free. This was made possible by a non-profit project known as the JavaScript Mess project. On this lengthy list of classic programs are memorable games such as 3D Genesis, Alien, Fast Food, and Dolphin.

This latest release of games is the second in a series of posts on the site known as the “Console Living Room”, which allows visitors to the site to access a plethora of games from the 1970’s through the 1990’s. Internet Archive is committed to offering a variety of styles and genres dating back from what is often described as the “bronze age” of video game development, characterized by black and white screens with simple, roughly digitalized sounds. Not stopping there, the Internet Archive also includes more modern, mass produced games with modern graphics and interfaces.
