You can't make this stuff up. The UFC has launched a new UFC Rewards program aimed at increasing their social media presence by rewarding fans for re-tweets and likes. Fans can build up points through these social media activities as well as by buying UFC products such as PPV's. The killer part is that you earn about 55 points for a PPV buy, or 1 point per dollar. A UFC PPV bundle, one of the least expensive rewards, costs 17,000 points. So, if you bought 309 straight PPV's, you would have almost enough to get one for free (but not quite). Which is to stay spending $17,000 just about earns you $55 in rewards. Are you fucking serious?
UFC 181: Hendricks vs. Lawler 2 is set to be the 300th card in UFC history. If you'd purchased all of them for $55/pop you'd still have to buy ten more to earn one free PPV. Holy balls.
