Lol, Awesome! http://www.nba.com/standings/team_record_comparison/conferenceNew_Std_Cnf.html?ls=iref:nba:gnav
Good. Give them a nice big whole for Durant and Westbrook to dig them out of. I can see some arguments about whose the man in their comeback attempt.
Amazing what happens when your two best players are injured! Sent from my Baller-Ass 5.5" iPhone 6+......... FAMS
Can we stop with the jinx threads? Inviting bad karma here. We all know why OKC has such a bad record. If both LA and Dame were out, we would be in the same boat. (knock on wood, salt over shoulder, all that garbage)
As much as the Blazers bench has improved this year, and the starting 5 (as a whole) is better than OKC's, the Blazers would be such a horrible team if Damian and LaMarcus got hurt and missed a month or two. But since Portland went through a stretch where they lost their all star/franchise player AND a mother load of other players got hurt that year AND Greg Oden crumbled into a million pieces, we fans already know what it feels like.
Right now we are up 7 in the loss column. I would love to stretch it to 10 games before Westbrook gets back, but their next 4 games are at home and 3 of them are winnable. (Nets, Jazz, Knicks) We needs to play well on the road to at least maintain the 7 game lead.
I agree, we have to take advantage of circumstances and realize just what an opportunity this is. OKC in their current state could still certainly lose to those teams (and hopefully will), but it will be for naught if we don't beat up on the Eastern Conference teams.
OKC will be the team you do not want to face in the playoffs. Their record won't determine their strength and whomever is unlucky enough to meet them in the first round will have to play a 2nd or third best team in the west. I'm hoping, praying, sacrificing fatted goats that they either miss the playoffs all-together, or miss us in the first round
Idk, I think they get bounced in the first round no matter what this season. Especially if they play the grizzlies or Mavs. Those two squads really beat them up.
We went through injuries like this in 2009-10. Like 10 surgeries including our coach. We were led by Bayless and Juwan Howard for awhile there and we still made the playoffs. 6th seed in fact.
