This question always comes up and the answer is always the same. Nope wont' happen game won't even be competitive for 4 quarters. Kentucky might look good for a quarter or two then just get CRUSHED.
A team of college all stars beat team USA....and our "dream teams" have lost several times. I wouldn't be too sure that a great college team couldn't beat a crappy nba team.
Those are All-Star teams. Kentucky might have a couple of NBA prospects, but it wouldn't be close. I think some people drastically underrate how good even the worst NBA player is. They're 100x better than the average person, and at least 10x better than the average college player.
I say the 76ers beat Kentucky. 76ers have some elite college talent that hasn't figured out the speed of the NBA yet. They could mop the floor with Kentucky
Silver should rig the lotto that screws Philly. This blatant tank has made their games unwatchable. They alone bring down the NBA brand.
Outside of Nerlens Noel and MCW, who on the 76ers was a "great college player"? Wroten, maybe? If both teams' active rosters were in a draft right now, do you honestly believe that 8 76ers would get picked before 8 Wildcats? I don't.
How does that make sense? Let's say Kentucky has 8 players in the top 12. The four 76ers players could be 1,2,3,6. I think it is ridiculous to say a college team could hang with professionals.
I think it's ridiculous to simply dismiss it out of hand without analyzing it first. I haven't looked at Kentucky's roster closely enough to be able to form an opinion, but with the way Pitino stockpiles all-americans, it's not unreasonable to think that there are multiple NBA-level players on his squad right now. It's also not unreasonable, looking at Philly, to say that many of them would be end-of-the-bench guys on most other teams.
As usual, the truth likely lies somewhere between. Kentucky could get a game or two but not hang around for a 7 game series most likely.
any team can win one game, a series would likely go 4-1 or 4-2 though, if not a sweep by the sixers the question to me is, could kentucky finish the nba season with more wins than the sixers will get this year? they would be actually trying to win.
