who do u think will ultimately turn out to be the better player? There are of course variables such as who they are paired with and what system they play in. I would have not too longed ago said CJ was the no brainer answer, but I have liked what I have seen from Crabbe and I think it is a least a valid question at this time.
Different types of players. CJ is a guy who can dribble and create his own shot. Crabbe has yet to ever show that.
I think Crabbe will get to a Tony Allen with a shot potential. He's got the awareness to defend well. CJ reminds me of a player of Jason Terry Caliber with better defense and ball handling. I like em both!
I'm worried he'll be a Kevin Martin. That guy literally cannot stay healthy for a season. He's out again with a broken wrist.
CJ just doesn't impress me much I want to see Crabbe carve out that Denny Green role for himself. He's also more athletic than I thought. Surprised me on that dunk last night. More excited to see Crabbe going forward. I just feel like CJ is limited with his size.
I think both have shown a lot of promise this year and don't feel the need to rank them at the moment.
Well Kevin Martin was paid like a star and injured. It sucks for CJ, but I think he will be fine down the road.
He's not as good as I thought he'd be. He dominates on the D League/Summer league level, but I haven't seen those abilities transferring to the pro level much yet.
To be honest with you I don't think CJ is ready for the NBA level yet. He needs playing time. The game is still way fast for CJ from the looks of things. Sure he hits the open 3 and on the break he can make a bucket. Things a lot of young players can do right out of college. Honestly I think the CJ that is playing this year will be much different from the CJ playing 2 years from now. Really think that's when the game will start to slow down for him. Crabbe has shown he has the potential to be a career NBA rotation player. Which isn't a bad thing. He can play defense, he can hit the 3. Too small of a sample size for him at the moment. But he has shown he can play the the NBA level. He just needs to add some muscle to his frame.
Genetically mutate them into one person. It would clear up a roster spot and the player would be damn good.
The surprising thing to me about CJ is that his defense impresses me more than his offense. He's kind of a mess on offense. On defense though, despite having lapses (like any young player), he's actually surprisingly solid on the fundamentals like contesting shots, getting around screens, playing good man defense, funneling players to the bigs, etc. The thing that worried me most about CJ coming into the NBA was that his size would limit his ability to play defense at the SG position. He's just got to get more comfortable fitting into his role on offense.
