We all whiffed at some point but looking back and some of your brainstorms, what moves were you dead-right with?

*Months before the 2009 draft there were rumors that the Blazers wanted to get into the lotto - "they had their eye on a top-10 guy". Jaynes fueled this fire by putting out there that KP was trying to get into the top-5. The guy I wanted but was met with a lot of resistance because a lot assumed he wouldn't translate? Stephen Curry. I thought he would've been a perfect fit next to Roy.

*The Bucks barely played him but you could see that he was going to be a great rebounder for a SF and showed flashes of real scoring instincts. I thought Neil should've made a play for him before they Bucks made him fodder/filler in that three-team deal - Tobias Harris

*My epic S2 meltdown when "Chad Motherfucking Buchanan" picked Nolan Smith over Kenneth Faried. Need I say more?

*The Kings were open to dealing DMC halfway through his second season and I drove that train here on S2.

    Toot your own horn!

I said Aldridge could rebound +10 a game. I was laughed at. Redemption last season.

I was wrong about everything else

I pretty much exactly predicted our success last season.

I said 4th or 5th in the west and 50+ wins.

I've never really been much of a draft guy though.

In 2010 I thought the Blazers should've taken Quincy Poindexter because of the uDub pipeline or Greivis Vasquez because I thought he could be the perfect player for Miller to take under his wing.

I think our bench would've been a lot better right now had we picked one of those two.

I think almost the entire forum could claim Faried though. Not many people were happy about Nolan Smith or the trade for Felton.

I wanted Faried too but nowadays, he's an overpaid mediocre NBA player on a bad team. Better than Nolan Smith though.

Yes, I know you've wanted DMC forever. He's causing havoc in the West now. Good call.

Magnifier- why isn't Aldridge averaging 10+ this year? Not complaining just curious what people think. All I care about is winning.

What was I right about? I knew the Spurs would be great the last two years. Everyone always drops them down the standings in their pre-season predictions saying that they are going to slide due to age. I was right about keeping Aldridge. I never wanted to trade him the last two years and he played like a legend vs the Rockets in the playoffs.

This is easier if it's a thread about what I've been wrong about. Nash, Bynum, contract extension for Crash, Babbitt, etc etc.

True and NateBishop picked the 5 seed right after we signed Mo Williams.

I think LA has been getting less boards because he's been playing a little further away from the hoop. I think he has also been more active on defense out on the perimeter. So I would equate it to being out of position to rebound, but not necessarily a bad thing.

I knew Kaman and Blake would be great pickups this summer, especially Kaman. I knew he would be our top scorer off the bench.

Unfortunately that's about it (that I can remember). :ghoti:

Because we've been blowing teams out. He had 9 in 3 quarters last night.

If you look at last season too, Aldridge started off slow and started blasting on the boards by December. I suspect the same thing will happen.

Aldridge is very reactionary. When the game is on the line, he steps up and rebounds and defends like a man. He is the best 4th quarter rebounder in the game right now

I thought trading Webster (even if he was hurt) was a dumb move.

Is that true? I agree he is a clutch rebounder but since we're blowing teams out, how is he the best 4th quarter rebounder in the game? I'm confused.

I thought Batum's lousy Summer League, was due to him just getting used to the NBA style, and not because he sucked or should have been a Eurostash. I remember seeing some youtube videos of his French team and thinking he was just used to playing a completely different style of basketball and that was the real reason he looked lost in Summer league. I thought it a good sign when he would laugh at himself whenever he'd make a mistake. Basically, I thought he'd be a quick study. I wrote a post about back then it but accidentally erased it.

    Historically on that statement.

Pay attention and see his rebounding. He gets most during the fourth. And they usually are "man rebounds"

His rebound won the game for us against Charlotte.

His 4th quarter rebounding against Pelicans won't the game for us too.

Did they try to build a theme park on an Island?
