Am I missing something, because the date I saw on this article, is only 19 days ago, (Nov, 11), and I don't think a thing has changed since then????

Rumor is he has a 3/39 offer, looking for 4/50. Yanks could pass and go for Andrew Miller as a tandem with Betances.

Tom, if you held the Yanx Checkbook, what kind of deal would you offer D-Rob? Me, I'm still not sure, what I feel he is worth, yet I don't see him being worth 15 Mil, or a 10 Mil jump in pay, from one year to the next.....Obviously today's Free Agents can hold out long enough, until they usually find a suitor to pay, the absurd contractual demands, for one who I don't think will be a solid closer, just my 2 cents. I'm sure others feel differently....????

Miller & Betances, yep, one hell of a combo. D-rob flat out made me nervous on many an occasion last year.

Could be one of two things- maybe Yanks already have an agreement with Robby and have it on hold while they pursue another free agent, OR, Yanks are waiting on him and already offered a take it or leave it contract and are willing to go with Betances and someone else to be the "8th inning guy".

I hear ya' YF5545, One never knows what they're going to get out of D-Rob, on any given day. A game winning 9th inning HR? another blown save.

If D-Rob were consistent and dominating, I'd see no prob with 3/39, but he's no MO', and not worth 3/39. Hell he only made 5Million $$$ last year, now he wants triple that, what a greedy fk. I'd offer him 7Mil on the 1st year, 8 Mil on the 2nd, and 9 Mil the 3rd, for 3/24. And that would be a stretch.....he hasn't proven he's even worth that much. Give a guy a couple years in the majors, and all the sudden his brain swells............whatever happened to honest humility?

Amen, if the Yanx resign D-Rob we will have to add a LF Neurotic bleacher creatures club. Valium Provided, or any other sedative, provided free of charge, handed out for free, when D-Rob takes the mound.

Probably on par with what I was thinking, but more likely $6, $7, & $8 with up to $1M in incentives each year... like $250k for being above (better than) a certain bar (tbd) in ERA, Saves, Innings, & WHIP? Categories are negotiable IMO, but the basic concept... ya know? If you can be better than or equal to X in each category, you get $250K each... that way he earns that extra amount...

NO WAY IN HELL am I ok with 3/39...

...DRob will get at least $40 Mil...his numbers as well as the market, justify it.

3/39 is about right. He did make us nervous, but he also got the job done most of the time. Part of that nervousness was on the offense as they were unable to generate more than a one run lead.

And keep in mind, after US, NY and NYC taxes, that 3/39 is only about 5.2/yr take home. Same offer from Seattle, Tampa Bay or Miami is roughly 20% higher. Remember the tax angle when thinking the yanks are overpaying. These players look at contracts in terms of NET not GROSS.
