Daniel Alfredsson will announce an end to his career where it spent the vast majority of it. Alfredsson, the former Ottawa Senators captain, will announce his retirement next Thursday in Ottawa, where he began his All-Star career in 1995-96, a source confirmed to ESPN. Alfredsson left the Senators two summers ago over a bitter contract dispute and signed in Detroit, where he played just one season.
