Carmelo Anthony: Bulls were 'perfect'

At one point over the summer, Carmelo Anthony says he decided to sign with the Chicago Bulls.

"It was one part of time where I was just like, 'Yo, I'm going,'" Anthony said in a documentary detailing his free agency that aired Tuesday night on MSG Network.

Anthony ultimately decided to re-sign with the New York Knicks, inking a five-year, $124 million contract. The Bulls could have offered Anthony a contract worth approximately $74 million, unless they executed a sign-and-trade.

In the documentary, titled "Carmelo: Made in New York," Anthony talks in detail about how strongly he considered signing with the Bulls.

"It came down to Chicago and New York. Chicago was the one that, from Day One, was something that I was very impressed with. They was looking for a person like me to come in and just take them to the next level," Anthony said. "So it was perfect. It was a perfect setup, perfect fit for me in Chicago. But then also I had to think about just living in Chicago. Do I want to live in Chicago? Do I want to take everything that I created in New York and move all of that? It came down to that."

Carmelo Anthony won't waive clause

BOSTON -- Carmelo Anthony says a published report stating that he is considering waiving his no-trade clause to green light a trade for the New York Knicks is false.

"Come on, man. After all the work I did to get here and get back here? If I was to get up and want to leave now that would just make me weak, make me have a weak mind," Anthony said on Friday morning. "I've never been a person to try to run from any adversity or anything like that so I'm not going to pick today to do that."

 

I know, but one never knows or sure. The writer said it was mentioned last summer that he would take the money, then get traded.

Probably isn't anywhere.

 

I'd at least like to thank him for, you know, the championships.

 

Thank you Michael, Scottie, Jerry R, PJax, Jerry K and all the rest of the key guys who made that wonderful era happen.

 

All those guys were there failing in the playoffs until PJax became coach.
