I was curious to see how this would affect fighters so I put some numbers into Excel. The latest rumour is that the deal is worth $70-million over six years. Some of the money will be donated to charity. I'm guessing 5%. Here is an example breakdown of how much each fighter will get: CHAMPIONS (10) $250,000 per annum ($2.5m per annum total) TOP-5 (50) $75,000 per annum ($3.75m per annum total) TOP-10 (50) $35,000 per annum ($1.75m per annum total) TOP-15 (50) $15,000 per annum ($750k per annum total) UNRANKED (390) $7,500 per annum ($2.925m per annum total) CHARITY $3.5-million (total) This works out to be about $11.7m per year or $70.05m total.
The sponsorship money will supposedly be per fight, so divide the totals by three and hope that all fighters can fight that many times. I guess if someone fights five times, someone else isn't getting money.
