Looks like he might be had for a late 1st http://www.sportingnews.com/nba/sto...umor-greg-monroe-detroit-pistons-celtics-suns
Isn't he like in the same boat when we had Greg Oden? How will that effect this summer if we wish to resign him since he signed that qualifying offer? Will we have his "bird rights"? If we do, then I would love to take a flyer on him.
No bird rights, he is UFA this summer as no QO was made, he'd be a "win now" trade and if he fit and played well he may be an option for us given all out FA's this summer
Hmmm that's a little concerning then. But man, maybe a good risk. Imagine Monroe and Kaman coming off the bench!!!! Do we even have a first available?
The issue with cap and resigning him. If we resign him before our other "bird players" sign, then we can go over cap to sign them. It may not be a rental after all
he's also could be insurance given that LMA and ROLO are UFA's, if he liked it here who knows, but if we are really serious about this year then it something to consider
If our team is successful (talking WCF or better), I don't see us having any problem resigning any of our players. Monroe is an insanely better "upgrade" than Freeland coming off the bench.
Ahhhh son of a bitch! Although, I think we are supposed to have close to max, if we renounce players. I don't know for sure
if he is traded to us from my understanding he is NOT a bird player, that only applies to detroit, and I believe he has to consent to a trade
