8 UFC knockouts (KO/TKO) is the most for a heavyweight in the UFC.

Except for a decision win over Joey Beltran, all of Mitrione's UFC wins have been via KO/TKO.

He now has twice as many UFC knockouts as career NFL tackles.

Gonzaga is his best win so far and will propel him into a fight with another ranked opponent. The easy match-up would be to put him against Travis Browne what with Reem taking time off. He might also be interested in a rematch with Brendan Schaub.

I wonder how could this guy could have been if he gotten into MMA way sooner. He's entertaining, I love watching him fight.

He's a goofy motormouth who knocks fuckers out. Hard not to like him.

That being said you're right he should've come to MMA five years sooner. It's probably too late for him to become a top HW at this point. The guys he has knocked out, Gonzaga notwithstanding, are mostly also-rans.
