It still makes me wonder what we were thinking? I thought he had some large cap hold, but it was literally 5 mil or something.

I sure hope this doesn't bite us in the ass

Tell me about it. I think Olshey made a mistake because Leonard was his pick. He wants so much for it to pan out. That mistake may lose the better player

Liked his responses after the game to Holton. Almost seems like he is starting to understand that he has bring it or there might not be much of a future.

It is interesting, the player they put their confidence is not gettin the time and this kat is. Don't pull him out now. Let him continue to put it together. If it 'bites us in the ass'. Well, I guess it just 'bites us in the ass'.

Leonard shows flashes of great offensive potential, thats hard to find in a big man especially if he can actually consistently knock down the three. Physical tools are all there he just doesn't have it all there mentally. Defensively... oh man we could put any poster out on the floor and they would box out better then Leonard, would probably rotate better as well. Its hard to give up on Big men after two years especially when the option is only 3m.
Robinson is a hustle guy and as fun as he is to watch they aren't that hard to find in the NBA. We could probably resign Robinson for lower this is actual caphit would be.

No way we can sign him for that bro. His cap hit is like 4.3 I think the last time I checked. He will easily get more than that. We can't even match an offer of 4.8 mil. Shit Hickson even got more than that and I think T.Rob is a better player.

As for Leonard... We could have easily retained all of them. I still don't understand why we had to choose not to pick up all of them.

He loves 'us'. So maybe he brings a forgiving spirit into fa.

That's the thing I hope for. I just hope he stays loyal to this ball club and takes less

Well, it's pretty clear that NO has some kind of scheme for this summer. Nobody knows what it is exactly, but he's built it all up to this point where most of the team is FA. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Why would we match an offer he won't be a restricted FA we would just offer him a contract. Hickson got a 3y 15m contract but reports had very few teams actually interested in him. Robinson option was 4.8m Turning down his option could have been Blazers play to see if that would really motivate him, you see that happen in football all the time the Lions did it with Fairley this year. Seems like Olshey wants maximum capspace this summer because it will be the only summer for a long time we will have capspace.

Only way to have major cap space would be renouncing our free agents. They have cap holds worth more than their current salary. It's not like we can sign other players first, then sign our free agents.

We would have a little more than 6.8 mil space if we keep rolo, Aldridge and Matthews while renouncing everyone else.

Or keeping the rotation as similar as possible for continuity sake (see previous uses of Crabbe and even Wright).

Forgot thats how FA works. If we lose Rolo/Wes in FA does that give us enough for a max FA?

I believe so. The beauty is though, you can offer a deal and then renounce if the guy accepts.

But if you renounce you lose the option to resign with bird rights? If that's the case, I don't know how much I would like losing Rolo and Matthews to get a max player, even if it's someone like Gasol.

except for RFA but I believe we get the rights to the players we renounce back if the team matches.

I would trade Wes and Rolo for Gasol in a heartbeat. No question. If he accepted the offer, I would pull that trigger.

    Dame
    Crabbe
    Batum
    LA
    Gasol

That's one of the best big three in the league.
