Dish Pulls Fox News, Fox Business Network as Talks Break Down

    Leading cable news networks Fox News and Fox Business both were pulled by Dish Network over the weekend, as both parties remained stalemated over a fee agreement.

    In recent weeks, Dish had been negotiating with both Fox channels, and with the parties failing to come to terms, Dish has accused Fox of using the contract talks as a strategic tool to increase fees for other channels under the 21st Century Fox umbrella. “It’s like we’re about to close on a house and the realtor is trying to make us buy a new car as well,” remarked Dish senior vice president of programming Warren Schlicting. “Fox blacked out two of its news channels, using them as leverage to triple rates on sports and entertainment channels that are not in this contract.”
