I came across this article earlier today: LaMarcus Aldridge, Damian Lillard are the Best Duo in the NBA And while I enjoyed reading someone gush about our two best player, the article hardly seemed objective and was definitely incomplete. When comparing Aldridge-Lillard to other duos, he left out the two most obviously similar tandems: Dirk-Monta and Duncan-Parker. Then, I found this gem: Steve Blake Has Been Portland Trail Blazers’ Most Disappointing Player This Season Really??? Has this guy even watched a single Blazers game this season (or last, for that matter)? It looks like this guy checked Blake's scoring and shooting stats and declared him disappointing. That's just plain stupid. Blake isn't about scoring, he's about running the offense, moving the ball and creating easy opportunities for his teammates. We don't have many guys on this team that can create their own shots (mostly just Lillard). So, having a smart, unselfish player like Blake, who leads all bench players in assists, to set up his teammates is vitally important to the success of this team. And this quote takes the cake: "With so many players around him playing so well, he is somewhat of a scapegoat." Who, exactly, has made Blake "somewhat of a scapegoat"??? Not his coach, not his teammates, not the media (outside of this one dork) and not even the fans in this forum who LOVE to have a scapegoat. Batum, especially, Wright, Leonard, and even LaMarcus Aldridge for fuck's sake, all get bashed WAY more in this forum than Steve Blake. So, is Rant Sports just the latest incarnation of the Bleacher Report fan written e-zine model of sports "journalism"? Sure seems that way. It's chock full of poorly written articles that seem to be written by marginally informed, most likely unpaid, fans. And, the web site is hideously polluted with so many ads it will make your eyes melt - again, very much like the old Bleacher Report look and feel. I like seeing as much media coverage on our team as possible, but after reading those two articles, especially the second one, I'm wondering if Rant Sports is with the effort of navigating through a minefield of ads in hope of finding something mildly worth reading. BNM
Seems like it. I tried to read that article but it was so poorly written that I stopped after a couple paragraphs.
Not bad, considering you're new to the game. Please know that this is meant as constructive criticism: It's "Rant Sports," lol... Dumbass...
