Detroit had opportunity to move Josh Smith to Sacramento for Carl Landry and Jason Thompson in summer, but passed on the offer.

Pistons were outscored by 192 points with Josh Smith on the floor this season. They were +4 with him off the floor.

With the new television money expanding the cap, this isn't a bad hit for the Pistons.

The Pistons will pay $5.4M a year on stretch provision for Smith, creating added $8.1M in cap space next two summers.

A not-so-fun fact to explain Detroit's desire to part ways: net rating of minus-11.6 w/ Josh Smith on court, plus-1.3 with him on the bench
