Listening to the BS report yesterday, and Simmons and Lowe gave the Blazers some love about 3/4th of the way through the podcast. On my phone so I can't link JT, but they spoke about our fan base as well as the fact that we have won them over. They also mention that the Lillard deal was one of the worst trades ever (from BKN's POV). Lowe said the Blazers were absolutely SHOCKED this deal was avaliable to them.

The most interesting thing was Lowe mentioning a deal of Meyers and a future first for a player like Wilson Chandler to solidify our bench, give us a little more scoring and potentially another smallball four. Simmons agreed and said that we are his front runner for a trade for Jeff Green with some of the pieces we have (All of our firsts, Meyers, TRob, CJ, Freeland).

They both agreed they think Olshey will be active and it's definitely an interesting point. Do we disrupt our continuity to keep pace with the other Western teams or do we stand pat and let our chemistry handle it?

I honestly don't see Olshey doing anything. He's waiting for the Summer to see what space can bring. The only thing that would drive it would be dischord in the locker room, and as far as I know only Claver's agent has complained. (And I'm sure if we could get a conditional second rounder for Claver he would be gone already.)

Looking at a few Celtic forums they all seem to think Sullinger might be packaged with Green -- Olynyk is viwed as their PFOTF.

Sullinger's outside shot and offensive rebounding would be huge off the bench.

Green has a poor defensive rating, as it has only been above his offensive rating like 2 or 3 times his whole career.

His PER isn't exactly exciting either. And his salary (almost 10 million) would take multiple players.

I did this trade, http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=qxwpwjx (Claver, Freeland, Leonard and Barton) for Sullinger and Green.

I don't like losing Freeland, but I don't mind the rest. But Sullinger and Green would potentially solidify the bench a lot.

Not sure that Boston would do that trade though.

Robinson and Freeland could be swapped, salary wise. Same with Wright.

If it was Wright, Leonard, Claver and Barton, plus a pick, that would be a good trade. Boston would have to be off it's rocker though.

Green's advanced stats scream overpaid. His contract is $10m with one year left - he'd affect Neil's ability to lock up all our FA.

This is why I'm all for a power move for Monroe, even if he is a rental. Our window for a title is open now. He's basically a rich man's Chris Kaman and a legit go-to guy in the post.

Or a lesser move - Gerald Green.

Interesting. My son goes to school with Wilson's daughter. He asked me what PDX was like. Perhaps he heard something? I know we tried to get him as part of a Rudy trade when he was a Knick.

I actually suggested Wilson a couple months ago when he was kinda slumping. I think he'd be a great scorer to bring off the bench.

    1) Green would have no impact on Neil's ability to lock up all our FA, since we have bird rights on all of them.

    2) With Smith gone, Detroit's shown their all in with Monroe. They're not dealing him.

    3) Gerald's advanced stats aren't any better than Jeff's. TS% is identical, with Gerald shooting more 3's and Jeff getting to the line more. Gerald's PER is inflated by a ridiculous USG rate of 28.2, good for 14th in the league this year. Philly's crappy guards are the only players in the top 20 in USG with a lower PER than Gerald Green.

Wilson Chandler to solidify our bench? I think he should be playing starters minutes while Batum can be are 11 million dollar backup. Maybe if Batum only got 12 minutes a game he'd start playing with a little bit of fire.

I wouldn't hesitate to make a good move now because of free agency. I don't think we're likely to score big in FA, we'll just resign our own guys.

    RPM:

    Chandler - #65 for SF's
    Green - #50 for SF's
    G. Green - #42 for SG's (well below CJ)
For fun: Lillard ranks #4 in the entire NBA in RPM.

Going by this metric Kevin Marin is more appealing.

Sullinger as well - RPM is more than respectable and shooing 44% from three this month.

I don't see Olshey making a trade thankfully. There is no need to do it.

The bench is still pretty weak. You wouldn't pick up a scoring wing?

Tonight we are seeing that this team has no depth beyond Blake and Kaman - especially at the three.

CJ is too inconsistent. But showing flashes.

    Wright is a third-stringer.
