so liverpool face champions barcelona in the champions league second round. This will be a tough test for rafa's boys, and if they can succeed it will be an excellent result.
Barcelona are a very tough team, with world's best player ronaldinho, eto'o, puyol..class defender.., great midfield too. I think liverpool will have to treat it as a cup final, they will have to play their best games out of the season if they want to beat barcelona, although if everyone's fit, then i don't see why they can't give barcelona a run for their money, they have proven they can beat the best teams, they have proven their up their at the top of europe
so will they be able to beat barcelona?????

I dont think so. Liverpool and Barcelona are just starting to get their act together, and with Eto'o coming back possibly in January, aswell as Messi, Barcelona will have the last few peices of their world class attack. With Puyol,Zambrotta,Marquez,Thuram,Sylvinho and V.Bronkhorst in defence, Deco,Xavi,Motta, and Iniesta in midfield, Ronaldinho,Eto'o,Messi,Gudjohnsen,Guily and Saviola in attack, aswell as Valdez in goal, barca are hitting some good form and are looking to be unstoppable for the rest of the season. Liverpool are a great team, but they just arent strong enough for barca, IMO anyway....[IMG]

Chelsea can beat Barcelona, but Liverpool won't be able to. Which is my opinion ofcourse, but if they can't, it shows the class difference between Chelsea and Liverpool.

Liverpool will lose to Barcelona because it is at Nou Camp first leg and i can see Barca winnin that 2-0 and Liverpool wont be able to get it back!

But i wouldnt rule out a Liverpool victory!

    BTW my 100th post [IMG]

    Anfield: Liverpool 1-2 Barcelona

    Nou Camp: Barcelona 3-0/1 Liverpool

I dont see Liverpool being strong enough to cause Barcelona any major problems

Why not? Anything can happen on the night and I'm sure the atmosphere at Anfield will be buzzing as it is every European night. There is no reason why Liverpool can't beat Barcelona. It will be tough for them yes but at 3-0 down in the CL final you would have bet your left testicle on Milan winning in!
