It seems as if Valencia's extraordinary performance against Internazionale in Milan has been somewhat overlooked on these boards.

After overcoming an Inter onslaught for a 20 minute period in the First Half, Valencia - without a play maker due to the injuries of Edu and Ruben Baraja, and without Vicente due to injury (and several other largely fringe players out) controlled the game and might even have snatched a win at the end.

No club has been blighted as much by injury as Valencia this season. So many players have missed large parts of the season with ACL's it's untrue. This has forced us to play two stoppers in midfield and hit on the break. Fortunately we've done OK.

In fact the comeback from Valencia against Inter (twice) was quite incredible. Written off before the start and going one-down to a blatantly offside goal, Valencia responded with a beauty from Villa. And then when Inter scored again on 75 minutes (very much against the run of play), Valencia again responded with a crisp volley from Man of the Match David Silva.

With Vicente and Baraja set to return this weekend, the problems Valencia experienced with turning their possession into chances (due to the playmaker issue)will not be a factor in the return.

I'm not saying Valencia will win the CL, indeed we still have to get through the return tie. But we have a chance. And now we know the team has the belief and the ability to challenge the best.

Ive watched them a lot this season and they are brilliant on their day

They have dropped quite a few points but the Spanish League is harder than anything and at this point in time is probably the best League that has existed

All the teams play good football and aside from 2/3 teams the rest are good teams, some are excellent

and i expect Spaniards to lift the CL and UEFA Cup again this season as they did last year

Ive been fortunate enough this season to be able to watch Valencia a couple of times, and although they have some quality players, the only way you will win the Champions League is if David Villa stays fit. That guy is pure class, i hope to see him in the Prem soon.
