Chris Duhon 6-1 190 PG Duke Jr.

projected #11 next year and #4 this year
he rocks and he should be top5
this dukey is better than Jay Williams (at least he will be in the NBA)
people really underrate what he can do

    NBA Comparison: Isiah Thomas

Strengths: Has great imagination/confidence/intelligence on the floor. Knocks down 3's with a picture perfect jumpshot. A relentless defender, a 'ballhawk'. Really excels at point guard duties, setting up teammates, ball handling, controlling the action, taking defenders off the dribble, and can get to the rim and finish. Great character and work ethic. Extremely quick, gifted athlete. Contrary to what some might tell you, has good leaping ability.

Weaknesses: Strength. Not as strong as Jason Williams. Can't physically wear down opponents with his strength, but conditioning will improve this. Can be too unselfish.

Notes: The premiere (traditional) point guard prospect in college basketball today...Charismatic point guard that can do it all. Has a great stroke from outside, and is a super floor general. Gets all of his teammates involved and does so with flair. Duke is scary with Duhon and Williams on the floor at the same time. Not the scorer that Jason Williams is, doesn't have the same strength to overpower guards, but has better PG instincts and gets teammates involved better.

    High School:

Senior season: averaged 23 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists.
Junior season: averaged 23.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists.
Sophomore: averaged 23.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.3 assists.
Freshman season: averaged 9.0 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists.

Selected to the 2000 McDonald's All American Game.
Selected to the Roundball Classic game.
Selected to the Nike Hoop Summit.
Won the McDonald's All-American Game three-point shooting contest.
Was named McDonald's Player of the Year.
W on Most Outstanding Player at the adidas Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas, NV
Led the New Orleans Jazz to the Big Time championship, as they defeated the Tim Thomas Playaz 110-103. Duhon scored 19 points (five three-pointers) and had seven assists despite playing with a ankle sprain.

At the USA Basketball Youth Developmental Festival, Duhon averaged 12.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 7.2 assists a game. But once again, he showed a flair for the dramatic. Duhon led his South Team to a 124-108 gold medal game victory thanks to his 29 points (7-11 on 3's), seven assists and five rebounds.

TJ Ford 5-10 165 PG Texas So.

i think he is the best PG in college ball and should be #1 next year or top 5 this year. though experts have put him in the 20's this year and mid teens next year.

    NBA Comparison: Nate Archibald

Strengths: Floor general. Exciting! Has all of the attributes to be a great pro pg. A leader. Very quick, imaginative floor general. Extremely gifted ballhandler. Proved to be the best pure point guard in his class by taking over the McDonald's All America game, reinforcing his HS teams 75-1 record over the past two seasons. (finishing in the top 3 teams nationally both seasons).

Weaknesses: A bit on the short side at just a shade under 6 feet. Must develop physically. Hit the weight room, contunue to develop his pg skills, and jump shot.

Very quick and intelligent floor leader. Dominated the McDonald's game with his ball handling, passing, and leadership abilities. Showed why he and fellow McDonald's All American and Willowridge, Houston teammate Daniel Ewing were able to win 75 of 76 games the past two seasons. Pro outlook is very good.

    The Good PG

Chris Thomas 6-0 165 PG Notre Dame So.

    2002-03 Season

    Height: 6-1
    Weight: 182 lbs.
    Hometown: Indianapolis, IN

    NBA Comparison: Tony Parker

Strengths: A true point guard, with the ability to run a team. A "floor general" with sound fundamentals, capable of crowd pleasing crossover dribbles and dazzling passing ability. Has a good stroke, and is adept at shooting off the dribble. Cerebral playmaker with great fundamentals. Excellent ball handler with supreme quickness. Has good leaping ability. Very strong on the ball defender, anticipates well.

Weaknesses: Average size at the PG position. Needs to get stronger, doesn't have great strength but can develop this area. Above average athlete, but not a freak.

Took the point guard reins immediately upon arriving at Notre Dame. In his first ever college game, Thomas recorded the first triple-double in school history with 24 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Was a McDonald's All American out of Indiana's Pike High School.

Can't agree with the Duhon and Isiah Thomas comparison....Isiah virtually willed Indiana and Detroit to championships, while Duhon isn't even particularly vocal, let alone a leader of Thomas' caliber.

Duhon is not underrated, he's gettin what he wants, i don't know what Pacers is thinkin in sayin that. What more do you want him to have? Any player that actually plays on Duke is rated at his level.

duhon is having a VERY DISSAPPOINTING YEAR...

i've been saying that Duhon was gonna be better then Jay Williams in the NBA for the past 2 years...i still think he's got a shot but he is NOT having a good year...and i don't think that at this point in the game he's underrated...i think that duhon is the best on ball defender at the point guard position in college ball tho...and would be one of the top in the NBA as well...

uhh and how can you call TJ Ford Underrated? a lot of college basketball analysts call him one of the best point guards in the country...you can't get much more 'rated' then that...

and Chris Thomas is a great point guard listed in the company of the best in the nation (and deservingly too)...but he's up there with ridnour, duhon, ford, hinrich etc...
