Ok everything is set for the Pistons, the regular season is over but the only thing that has yet to be decided to who Detroit will face in the first round

It is down to 3 teams

New Orleans Hornets, the New York Knicks and the Milwaukee Bucks

Tonight's games will decide it all

If Knicks beat Cavs, Hornets beat Wizards= will mean Pistons will face N.O
If Knicks Beat Cavs, Wizards beat Hornets= will mean Pistons face NY
If Bucks lose to Raptors= Pistons face Bucks

Knicks have to beat the Cavs to have any chance at the 6th seed although they seem to want to face the NJ Nets.

The question needs to be asked, which team do you want to face or do you even care?

Hornets have a history of giving Pistons all kinds of problems. They have a strong frontline with Brown, Magloire and when heathly Jamal Mashburn. Baron Davis is a very tough guy to guard when he actually attacks the basket, David Wesley is known as the Piston killer.. He is a very good shooter who can take over games when he's hot. Their depth isn't too bad either. Armstrong is a very good scorer coming off that N.O bench. It would be a good battle between him and Mike James for bench scoring/shooting.

The other team is the Knicks

Stephon Marbury gives everyone fits and I see no different here, he is great at attacking the basket and finding the open man. If available Allen Houston's return would be a big boost to that team, one of the best pure shooters this league has ever seen. When he's on he is unguardable. Tim Thomas is another guy who can give teams trouble. He is a proven playoff performer. He can strench out the defenses with his abilty to shoot the three, he can also attack the rim. Even though he is not the player he used to be and is getting even older...Dikembe Mutombo can still make a difference on the defensive end by blocking shots. He will give the Knicks decent minutes at that center spot.

It looks like It will be the Hornets the Pistons will face (currently up by 10 in the 2nd quarter v Washington) all Hornets need is a win tonight to clinch a match-up with the Pistons.

It's not known wether Mashburn will even play at all.

Also Bucks have options with Redd, Mason, Smith, Van Horn

I didn't realise till now that If Bucks lose...Pistons could get them in the first round. Hornets and Heat won tonight which means a Bucks loss at home to the Raptors would = a first round meeting with Detroit

And it's the Bucks. Should be a defense clinic, and I would bet on a sweep. Milwaukee has scored higher than the Piston's average allowed for an opponent in all of their meetings this season, but Detroit didn't have Rasheed for those games. And now we're the hottest team in the conference. As long as the Pistons remember to show up for the first few games, unlike last year.... [IMG]
