Can there be some type of rule/standard about posting a link when posting a story?


Seeing something posted with no link drives me crazy.

This sounds trivial but I'll agree. Plus I recall that long ago, Shape said he'd get in trouble or something if no link was provided; I'm not sure what he meant exactly by that.

As far as I know there is a rule, it's up to the forum mod to enforce it.

It's fair use if you provide a link, it's not if you don't. That's how it works, legally.

We do encourage people to include links to stuff they post.

Permissions - regular users don't see those.

no points but just a way of adding a personal note to someone's post.

i like to be able to say, "dude that was funny" but don't think the whole forum needs to see it.

i know it can get abused but i'm a big fan of the note portion of a rep system.
