<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Players acquired via trade or free agency last summer were eligible to be traded starting yesterday. The arrival of that date, along with the saga surrounding Indiana Pacers forward Ron Artest, has the NBA rumor mill turning. However, if the Wizards are planning on making any moves, President of Basketball Operations Ernie Grunfeld is keeping them close to the vest. As policy, Grunfeld refuses to address trade rumors -- even shunning the traditional "no comment" -- and wouldn't touch questions about possible interest in Artest, who has demanded a trade from Indiana. According to reports, at least 15 teams have contacted the Pacers about Artest's availability.

Grunfeld, who shook up the Wizards' roster last summer by signing Antonio Daniels and trading for Caron Butler and Chucky Atkins, continues to express confidence in his team.

"We've been right there in a lot of close games and some things just haven't gone our way," Grunfeld said. "We have a good team. I think everyone saw that when we beat San Antonio and Detroit. How many teams can say that?"</div>
