<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Observations from Wednesday's 91-79 victory over the Celtics at TD Banknorth Garden:

-- Five in a row. Finally, continuity.

-- "We're playing pretty well, sharing the ball,'' center Shaquille O'Neal said. "We're just having a good time."

-- At 24-25, the Heat not only is the closest to .500 it has been since it stood 13-14 after a Christmas victory over the Lakers, but is only 5 1/2 games out of first place in the Eastern Conference.

-- "I said it about a month ago, the only thing we needed was health,'' said interim coach Ron Rothstein, with the only remaining significant health issues being when point guard Jason Williams makes it back from an abdominal strain and when coach Pat Riley returns from hip and knee surgeries.

-- Considering the competition, this hardly was a test. The Celtics not only lost for the 16th consecutive time, but fell to 2-22 amid the ongoing injury absence of forward Paul Pierce.

-- The climb to .500 will take on a greater degree of difficulty in the next two, Friday in Cleveland and Sunday at home against San Antonio.

-- This hardly was a complete performance by the Heat.

-- With Williams out, Gary Payton was uneven in his play as the starting point guard. O'Neal was mechanical with his offense, shooting 4 of 9 for nine points, with just four rebounds. And forward Antoine Walker hardly elicited pleasant Celtics memories with his 1-of-7 shooting, missing all five of his 3-point attempts.

-- O'Neal believes he is making progress in his third week back from a two-month layoff following knee surgery. "I've still got a couple of weeks to go to get there,'' he said. "The knee is still kind of sore, still kind of weak."</div>
