Talk about a heck of a season. The big thing here though, will this the Tigers resigning him when he hits the FA market?

Illitch aint afraid to open his wallet for great players. Just look at the Wings/Tigers drafts. The bad news is that he might have to charge a little more for a Hot-And-Ready. (He also owns Little Ceasers)

I forgot that I saw he did this, joins only 2 other players.

    Willie Mays and Frank Schult.

I'd like to see the Tigers keep him as he's a homegrown talent.

What do you guys think on him? Asking as I saw his OBP was up, but walks was down.

I think he's got all sorts of potential. In my eyes, he's kind of a poor mans version of Jose Reyes. He's got the ability to do everything. Hit for power, contact, run the bases, be solid on defense, steal bases, etc.

Amazing season, it's a damn shame that their pitching didn't stay healthy or they could've been in contention for the WS again.

If you are a Tigers fan looking at the core, all relatively young. As someone already stated, they spend money,Sheffield, Rodriguez, Magglio, gotta be happy. It's a great time to be a Tigers fan.

I'm amazed at how competitive the AL central is.

Yea, definitely agreed. What was their strength early on has really been there achilles heel over the last month. It doesn't help that their staff hasn't exactly been healthy, especially Kenny Rogers. Also, I realize that he gets the saves and all, but Todd Jones is TRASH. A closer should not have an ERA closing in on 5.00. I think I'll be completely in awe if Zumaya doesn't get that job next year.

I guess the sig is a major misconception about me. I love Maggs, Verlander, Granderson, Zumaya, Bonderman, and some others. I'm an Angel fan, though..being from SoCal.

Todd Jones is more than trash, if Joel didn't get injured this year, I think the job would've been his already.

We are mortal enemies. I'm a Yankee fan. And the Angels are the only team with a .500+ record vs. the Yankees in the last 13 years.

And I love that! Is that Garrett Anderson 10 RBI game still a bit sour?
