    The second amendment stands as written, with the addition to clarify;
The right of the citizens to bear arms shall not be infringed. The right of the individual to defend oneself and those you protect is inherited from the creator. All fully automatic weapons are deemed to exceed the right of self defense, and therefore are reserved for the use of the sovereign states and the Federal Government.

The right to bear arms within the densely populated boundaries of cities of 125,000 or more registered residents, may be altered by a super majority local vote of the registered voters. A majority of 66% of the voters, with at least 50% registered voters, voting, may chose to infringe on the right to certain arms or the right to arms within their geographic area . The same restrictions will remain in effect through out the state for the residents of the restricted area.

The right to bear arms on any US documented vessel can not be infringed by any city in any state.

Seems very reasonable. However, in my opinion, even this amendment, written by a staunch supporter of the right to bear arms, would meet such fierce opposition from the right that it would never get off the ground.

MarAzul, other than the grammar/spelling, you are on the right track here. If you don't want syphilitic liberals like me to write the amendment, you should write it yourself. That will produce a more satisfactory outcome for you.

I am not so sure it would be opposed so strongly by the right. I think it would be killed by the left.

Why would the left take issue with an amendment that codifies a city's ability to restrict, reduce, or even eliminate its citizens' ability to own guns? Seems like it fits their quintessential "baby step" motif.

Not enough! And if this one passed, it might be 500 more years before the they could get the next step.
Then again, I am not so sure they wish to lose the issue any more than they wish to lose the chance to never waste a crisis, like a school shooting.

No I do not think this amendment if passed, it would change a thing in the school shootings.

I think it would turn some cities in to hell holes.

I certainly would like to know what is happening to these young males, that is causing them so much difficulty in transitioning to becoming men. For the most part, it seems as if they are all young white males without the father to help them. What???

It's a start but a bit weak in areas. Like nobody is going to fall for using a % of registered voters as the hurdle.

    Thumbs down.

There is no mention of the guns being for the local militia.

We have that now in Oregon to raise taxes and that's EXACTLY what these Republican folk are talking about when they say "balanced budget amendment".

All that means is it makes it so making it so we'd need a supermajority to raise taxes.

Good point. I meant to say 66% of the vote if at least 50% of the voters vote.

    I never took it out.
Although, I think it becomes even more meaningless than it already is.
