well, whadya know, Brandon Belt has made the Giants 25 man roster and will begin the season as the STARTING 1ST BASEMAN AND THE DEFENDING WORLD SERIES CHAMPION SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS!

this move has a few other points to it:

the giants non-tendered travis ishikawa, to make room for Belt on the 25 man roster. Ishikawa may not know his fate for 10 days. the Giants could trade, release or waive him. if he clears waivers, they could send him to AAA, but Ishikawa would have the right to refuse the move and become a free agent.

this moves Aubrey Huff, who placed 7th in the MVP race last year, to RF full time. his defense should be passable there.

this moves Aaron Rowand firmly to the bench, or better yet, towards a buyout. although he has stated he will only play center field anyways. whateva.

The Giants are carrying 6 outfielders.

    in order of awesomeness:

    Aubrey Huff
    Andres Torres
    Cody Ross
    Nate Schierholtz
    Pat Burrell
    Aaron Rowand

in other last day news, Marc Kroon, whom i was pulling for to make the team, did not. he was optioned to AAA fresno, to make room on the roster for Guillermo freaking Mota. blech. Kroon may or may not report, but Bochy is pulling for him to...

Had a pretty good debut today going 1 for 3 with a walk off of Kershaw who pitched great (and is a lefty mind you).

I pray that he continues to do well and when Ross comes back Sabes and co. are forced to dump Rowand. It'd be a shame to lose both Schierholtz and Ishi to keep Rowand.
