Full article at ESPN.com Great news for us? From what I know, the Hornets' system relies a lot on pick n' rolls, and alley oops to Chandler, and he is also their defensive anchor. So hopefully we can meet them in the first round or so, and sweep them.
Salary dump. The owner doesn't want to have to pay the luxury tax, and this trade sheds a good chunk of salary for them. However, I think Wilcox could fit in their system well offensively, but he certainly doesn't fill the void of Chandler defensively. Good for us though, definitely. This will make them a lot easier to beat come playoff time. They'll have absolutely no defensive post presence, which will make life unbelievably easy for Gasol and Bynum.
They went from a contender to a low seed out West, possibly a lottery team. I guess they want to find out if Hilton Armstrong is worth keeping around and they obviously wanted to shed salary. Mistakes like Mo Peterson's current deal forced them to unload Chandler. Great move by the Thunder to take advantage of the situation and add a key piece to their core.
I still the Hornets are a playoff team. Despite this move, I don't think it's going to do enough for them to drop completely out of the race. They've played a lot of the season without him as it is, and when he was on the court, he wasn't be overly productive.
I don't know, the Hornets are about to lose to the Thunder tonight after blowing a huge 1st half lead. Utah is finally getting healthy and should make the biggest jump in the standings. Phoenix might play inspired basketball with Alvin Gentry bringing back the run & gun style. The Hornets are only 2.5 games out of the 9th spot and they've faded in the second half the past two seasons. It's going to be an exciting finish.
Yeah that was big win for them. If they lost tonight after the blockbuster trade and blowing a big lead I think their confidence would have taken a turn for the worse. How about Durant with 47 points tonight? The kid is amazing. Utah is struggling with Memphis.
Is it sad that we can call this a big win for them? Losing to the dismal Thunder would have been a confidence killer for them tonight, so they should be thrilled they pulled it out. Durant is amazing. He's going to going to be winning a whole bunch of scoring titles in his NBA career, and probably some MVPs along the way too. Also, anyone think the Thunder could make some noise next year? They've got a great YOUNG core now of Kevin Durant, Jeff Green, Russell Westbrook and no Tyson Chandler. If they can mesh and maybe add another solid piece to the team, they could make a run next year. They're loaded with young talent that's only going to get better next season.
I actually think they have 5 Shape. I think you're going crazy here recently bro. You think the Hornets drafted Okafor....now this? C'mon man, get with it
Haha, so apparently a drunk Shape = a stupid Shape, because you've fucked up quite a few times tonight my friend.

Yup, trade was rescinded because Chandler didn't pass the physical. The link is in the thread in the NBA General forum for those interested.
