He's been absolutely horrible since getting injured last year. His hands are horrible, his route running is horrible. Basically, he was a 4th WR @ best. He lost the starting job in pre-season to Malcom Floyd, got it back when Floyd got a little injured, and then lost it again last week to Floyd. Last week against KC, Chambers dropped 4 passes that him square in the hands, including one that would've been a TD.

Vincent Jackson and Malcom Floyd are by far our two best receivers and then we've also got Gates, Sproles, and Naanee as offensive weapons through the air. Chambers is definitely not needed here anymore.

He lost a step and with Jackson emerging as the go to player on mid-range and deep passes Chambers become obsolete in the offense. He's always been a solid possessions receiver and isn't scared to go over the middle and take a hard hit. I'm sure someone will pick him up.

    Liked him in Miami.

Does it have to do with his conditioning? He shouldn't have declined this fast. Might be a little injury prone as well.

    Nothing with his condition.

And Shape, I don't know what Chambers you've been watching but since his injury last year he hasn't gone over the middle and he can't even hold onto the ball anymore. Dude was afraid or something.

A couple more reason's for this move...

-The Chargers' lost MLB Tim Dobbins this past weekend and need to add a LB to the mix. Depressing injury, Dobbins was really coming into his own and becoming the heart of that defense. Against KC, he lead the team with 11 tackles.

-Chambers' supposedly posted a complaint on twitter about his reps and then this morning, I guess he made a comment to the media about being pissed @ Norv because he didn't get the reps that Norv said he would.

-I think it was 2006, the Chargers drafted Craig 'Buster' Davis out of LSU in the 1st round. He's been more of a 'Bust,' than 'Buster'. Word is this is his last chance to prove himself, reportedly he's going to get a shot @ the #3 WR slot if he doesn't hurt himself getting suited up. This is his make or break chance.

-This is one of those moves that Norv was talking about when he said changes were coming. So far, two veteran players have been released. Both of them have been outplayed by younger, better players (Hart outplayed by both Ellison and Gregory, Chambers outplayed by Malcom Floyd). Nobody is safe right now.

Pioli wasn't the GM here, Belichick has always been his own GM.
