Had a chance to watch this game. Rose wasn't trying to be some new version of himself yesterday. He played very naturally, which is to say, he made the defense say "uh-oh" whenever he had the ball. The young man was ballin'.
Looked like he played against a team full of slow white guys. The highlights don't show his misses, either. But he was much better this game than previously. Let's hope it's the start of a trend.
K.C. Johnson @KCJHoop Coach K on Rose: "You could see in his face he was different. I think this starts the journey back to being who he is. It will happen."
Show me against 5 NBA players trying to win a regular season game. My hopes are way up after this game, though.
Mine too Denny. Cautious, but I saw signs the last game. First exhibition game is less than a month away.
SST that is the honest truth. 2 years off and 2 bad injuries and its going to be a roller coaster. We don't know what we'll get but I am glad the process started off season on another team's time.
I've come around to the fact that it may very well be next season when Rose finally gets his legs underneath him and judgment on his progress will be premature until then. Personally I'd be fine with minute restrictions and scheduled time off this season, especially in the beginning. Many in the media will make it out to be larger than it is, but I think when it comes to Rose's recovery the slow way is going to be the fast way.
I'm considered pretty patient by most, but you absolutely kick my ass on this one. I'll give it to mid-season, but by then I expect to see what Rose has. I don't think either of our approaches to this has a medical basis...it's just a matter of personal preference.
