The New York Giants aren't buying into the sky-is-falling narrative about how lousy their new offense has looked in the preseason. They insist it looks better in practice than it has in the games, and they believe it will be in fine shape once they take the field for their regular-season opener three weeks from now in Detroit. However, they do share the popular opinion that it's about time to see some proof. Read more http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/sto...-cruz-say-new-york-giants-improve-offensively
I was always blaming the WRs, TEs & OL for Eli's pathetic results last year. Now, I'm shifting it all on Eli, as the on-field leader of the offense unit. He has stunk up the joint in last two pre-season games. I am also of the belief that the Giants' present Wr group stink also. ........and that includes their # 1 draft pick. They are unwatchable.
Eli's plea for help goes unheard. Giants should trade him. Reese & Co. are not helping their QB. Granted, most OL free agents are injured.....Eli needs to go.
Eli is doing an awful lot of talking on how he will get better, on how the team will get better......la dee da.....and on and on he talks. After 5 preseason games where he got little action, he's telling anybody who will listen...he will be fine with the new offense. Somehow, I just do not buy his words, and after seeing him in action......he still looks clueless. Will he be doing this all year long? I hope not. He is only a pro QB on the down side of the mountain (on the decline). Sorry Eli. It is all mental with you. You're not getting the new offensive schemes. It shows that it is too difficult for you to grasp. I wonder how Jerry Reese is feeling? If this season goes south, he'll be looking for new employment.
I have no issue with the Giants dealing Manning in the off-season to a desperate team for a couple of second round picks if their record is bad. One second rounder this year, then other the following year. Drafting a new QB in the first and using two second round picks to draft a guard, TE, then next year go LT in the first, G and DE with the other second round picks. You know. It's called how you rebuild. Hopefully, Reese will be fired since he has no idea what that concept means.
When people talk about the Giants, it is all about their "great" past teams.....and legendary players. No mention about this 2014 horrendous roster. It looks like there will be no attributes, laudatory praise for this bunch portraying as the NY football Giants. Never have I felt so down before NFL season began about the Giants. I could see Reese adding and subtracting players as the season progresses. It has already began. GAME 1 prediction: Detroit Lions 31 Giants 6 GAME 1: LIONS 35 giANTS 14 They are on their way to a losing season. GOODBYE......Reese, Coughlin, Eli and others This team needs an overhaul.
GAME 2 prediction: Arizona 37 Giants 6 Before this season ends I wonder how many giANT fans will be wearing paper bags......out of complete shame.
GAME 2: CARDINALS 25 giANTS 14 Everything but the final score. Turnovers killed giants this afternoon. And Special teams put this sorry team into the loss column. Two fumbles lost and two Manning INTs. Otherwise they played competitively. Yet, a loss is a loss. Losing to Card's backup QB! And last place looks to be their comfort zone.
GAME 3 prediction: TEXANS 27 Giants 13 Giants are on a roll....injuries puts this team on the same level as a Division III college team.
It is half time of GAME 3 Texans 0 GIants 14 The game is one of mistakes. Texans are making the mistakes. G-men look much better. There is still a half to go. Let's see what happens.
GAME 3: Giants win 30 - 17. Defense played 2 games. First half D was dominant. Second half....D was loose and looked very much like games 1 & 2. Giant O was OK. Still has problems scoring TDs once in the green zone. Tied with Redskins for 3rd place. Already Game 4 has division implications. Thurs. Sept 25 at Washington Redskins. Would be nice to come out of September 2014 with a 2-2 record. How does this Giant D put the reigns on QB Cousins. It will be a tough task.
GAME 4 at Washington. Eli got better. Team played with purpose & cohesion. Giants took advantage of every Washington mistake.
Ryan & J Jones is giving Giant D fits. Eli is playing so-so in first half. He picked it up in the 2nd half, particularly the 4th Qtr. Don't like their playing for FGs late in the game. GAME 5: ATLANTA 20 GIANTS 30 First time since 2012 Giants are above .500. Giants 3-2 still in 3rd place. Now onto Philadelphia and then onto Dallas. HUGE. Execution must improve. And less mistakes.
Eagles thriving on all cylinders. Special teams and defense are getting points on the board. And Foles has excellent execution in guiding the offense. Giants have a hard working week for preparation. They need to execute in all areas to win next Sunday night. No easy task. Prediction GAME 6: GIANTS 17 Eagles 21 Eagles special teams will win this game UNTIL the coaches figure out HOW TO IMPROVE THEIR STs......Giants have (for several years) the 4th worst Special Teams in 2014.
It is a shame you are banned by this moderator. You give exact opinions on what is wrong and what should be done with these giants. I thought the whole purpose for these boards is to voice one's opinions whether you agree or not.
GAME 6: giANTS 00 Eagles 27 Eagles much more talented than g-Ants .And it showed in every phase of the game. G-ANTS, like all toads, put their heads into their shell and played scared. G-Ants vs good teams will not win. Plain and simple. Besides, another key injury adds up to lack of depth on this team.
