The statement game! The team is very focussed on playing well tonight and will look to squash the Celtics to prove that we're worthy of the hype. Boston showed against Indiana that they are defeatable and as long as the Rockets play within themselves and not try to force anything on offense, a win would be likely. Having TMac and Artest attack the basket early to try and draw fouls on Garnett would help as well. Without him anchoring their defense, Boston's a much easier team to score on.

    Early prediction

    Celtics 105 - 104 Rockets

This will be a tough match for the Celtics, especially now that the Rockets have Artest. I'm only choosing the Celtics because I'm a Celtics fan, otherwise it's a toss up.

The Rockets never had T-Mac and Yao on the court together last year when facing the Celtics. Now they have both, plus Artest, plus Barry, plus an improved Aaron Brooks. No Battier, though. I think the Rockets should have an edge, but they've been very shaky offensively at home this year. Hopefully we have an energetic crowd at Toyota Center this time.

Don't forget, we didn't have Landry as well when the Celtics ended our streak. Landry was a huge part of our winning streak.

I foresee Ron on Pierce, T-Mac on Ray, and Yao on Perkins...so our hardest matchup will be whoever is opposite of KG. If Chuck and Landry can just keep KG shoting J's then we should be okay. We really have to shutdown Boston's bench. We cannot let them get any kind of momentum, cause if they do, they can be dangerous.

Jeez, can someone fill me in on why we're down so much? Has Alston really been that bad guarding Rondo?

Rockets have come back to take the lead. Early foul trouble for Yao, bad defensive rebounding, and just awesome defense by the Celtics put the Rockets down early. The Rockets put Brooks and Barry on the court and they provided some better offense. Hayes has been playing great defense in the 2nd quarter.

This is a surprisingly high scoring game considering the defensive reputations of both teams. They're on pace to both score 100 tonight.

Alston is pretty much sucking. Bad defense and just not making any shots.
Rockets can't get a rebound for shit.
Too many bad passes which are being slapped away.
McGrady just not driving in and settling for jump shots.
    Stupid fouls.
We are lucky to be only down by 5!

Oh and btw, Ron Artest is playing his ass off. Doing really good.

Half time, and the Rockets are back down by 5. The Celtics seem to be in control of this game. T-Mac hasn't been able to get the penetration and foul calls this time that he got in the previous few games. He hit a couple jumpers, and I think that might have taken away some of his aggression in attacking. If he has Ray Allen guarding him, he should post him up and look to get to the basket.

It will be interesting to see how the Rockets come out in the second half. T-Mac, Artest, and Yao still haven't gelled playing with eachother. Their offensive games don't fit together quite as well as Boston's Big Three.

Scola is having a nice game. Landry got 3 quick fouls and has had no impact. Artest has taken a number of quick 3-pointers, making just two. Like T-Mac, he's at his best attacking the basket. Rafer has been Rafer. Can't buy a jump shot. Yao has been ineffective outside the opening minutes of the game and he's in foul trouble. When he helps on defense, his man is going straight to the basket for the dump off pass or the offensive rebound and we've struggled to rotate and get another defender on him.

That right there is the big difference in the game. Both teams are shooting roughly the same percentage, but the Celtics got 12 offensive rebounds and we only got 4. That can't continue if we want to win.

Alston should never have more FGAs than Yao.
