It didn't take long. Hambrick has now found a home with the Raiders. He signed a one-year contract for the league minimum ($535,000) plus a $25,000 signing bonus.

It sounds like he will compete for a Wheatley-type role, as well as go back to special teams again (ex-Cowboys special teams coach Joe Avezzano is with the Raiders now).

I can't see him being the starter there, but he should be an OK addition to the committee approach.

I agree with you. I can't see Hambrick winning the starting job over the other options that the Raiders have. The league minimum salary tells me that he'll be on the team this Summer, but probably not in September.

I've been waiting a couple of seasons for Hambrick to break out... He ran for nearly 1000 behind a POS line last year without having the benefit of the coaches blessing for the entire season. Only five lost fumbles over the last four seasons (with over 500 touches)... The declining YPC over the last three seasons is a concern, but as I said above, he was running behind a POS line. I don't know whether he'll make it or not in Oakland, but he really wasn't that bad overall in Dallas.

Hambrick was the beneficiary of some poor tackling last year. This guy couldnt juke my granny let alone an NFL linebacker. I agree he had no OL but when he did get in the open he ran right into a tackler. Personally, I dont think he ever fit into Parcells plans and last year he was bacically the only option we had. I wish T-Ham good luck but this is the NFL and thats the way it goes. Later
