Meh! Fire up the Democrats! Geez that sounds good! I would like to help. This one took first prize. " President Obama said most Americans don't want a yacht, or a plane, or a mansion - they just want to be able to pay their bills"... That's really sad to see the President of the United States encouraging people to seek nothing!! Dammit! If you vote for this kind of leadership, you will get nothing and paying your bills will be as hard to do as getting new rights. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...fire-Democrats-ahead-Novembers-elections.html
http://washington.cbslocal.com/2012...-spikes-nearly-50-million-americans-affected/ The article you linked doesn't say most, it says the average, which is still a bit too broad for my tastes. Regardless of how the article phrases it, poverty in the United States is very real.
For sure! And those in poverty need to be assured it is not your fate. Then put them to work instead of saving the world for the next cycle of the interglacial warming. Perhaps better solution will result from all the work. On second thought, poverty is ridiculously low compared to the Great Depression. Dinner was real iffy then. I started out then, in then in cabin not far from this beauty.
Jeff Merkley hasn't gotten anything done. Since he's been in office (the senate?) the last six years, he's only written one bill that's become law. It's time to send a message to Jeff Merkley! Did I get the commercial right?
I think that's a very unfair twist on that comment. The quote you posted doesn't suggest that Americans should aim for mediocrity; what it does say is that Americans generally desire financial security without feeling entitled to luxury. It takes a lot of pre-conceived bias to derive what you interpreted from what he actually said.
Sorry but I don't see a thing inspiring in the statement. Just more pandering from a Democrat telling the workers, you are the Salt of the earth and a Fair shot is all you need. Not inspiring and pretty much bull shit telling union workers this while he lets millions of immigrants in to compete for the few jobs there are. http://cis.org/AmericanLaborMarket%26Immigration
