<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">MANKATO, Minn. ? Here's something that might be of interest to Timberwolves fans who wish all-star Kevin Garnett would post up on the low block and stay there. The 7-foot Garnett spent time this summer practicing his three-point shooting. No joke. "It's coming (along)," Garnett said this week. "I'm not going to rely on it, because you all know I'm from the block. The block is what got me here. I'm going to stay with the block. But that's not to say I'm shy about shooting it. I've been working on it, working on it really hard, but I can't forget about that block." Garnett was perhaps the team's best three-point shooter during a drill earlier this week in training camp. He had streaks of four and five in a row, outshooting most guards in the drill. No one knows how much Garnett actually might shoot threes in games once the regular season starts Nov. 1. Dwane Casey won't be calling plays for Garnett to step behind the arc for an open shot, but the coach has confidence in his franchise player. "His outside shooting has improved," Casey said. "He's brought a three-point game into the year. That's something new he brought in. He's shooting it consistently. I don't know how much he's going to use it, but he's worked on it." Garnett is a career 29.7 percent three-point shooter during his 11 years (152 for 511). His best season was in 1999-2000, when he made 30 of 81 attempts (37 percent). His most attempts came in 2001-02 (116), but last season he shot only 30.</div> Source Starting 5 announced as well... KG-Hassell-James-Davis-Blount
I like the starting 5. KG has always been a good 3-point shooter. Maybe not statistically, but whenever i saw him actually open when we needed a three, he hit it. This will be a nice boost though with him even better now.
KG has always been willing to take the occasional open 3 while still grabbing 12+ boards so I dont think this is going to be a dramatic change in his game. I think he probebly just want to shoot a higher percentage since his career average is about 30%.
Well, KG won't get you good 3PT% for your fantasy team. The man has always been able to shoot the 3 along with Tim Duncan. People don't think TD can shoot but he can. A lot of people were surprised when Brad Miller was shooting 3s but I wasn't
Lol, this basically shows how Minny's guards suck at three pointers. They have a PF as their best 3 point shooter. But it's good to see him getting better at it.
Duncan? He has good range on his shot but he doesnt shoot 3s. Duncan has only shot 113 3s in his career compared to KGs 500+, and he is only a 20% shooter from behind the arc. I was suprised when Miller started shooting the 3 a few years ago, but was even more suprised by how good he was at it. With all the stats KG gives a fantasy team, if he also gives you above 30% from 3 then you have to be happy.

They also have Rashad McCants, Marko Jaric, Bracey Wright and Ricky Davis who all shot better from behind the arc last season.

But did they really say KG is their best 3 point shooter?
<div class="quote_poster">Umair15 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">They said he was the Wolves' best three point shooter in the drill so I am guessing he is the best.</div> It's a drill dude. Don't be so simple minded. If you've ever been on a bball team than you would know that this kind of stuff happens all the time.
I dont really mean he is the best 3 point shooter, but I mean that he is capable of being the best 3 point shooter, yet he is the starting PF on the team meaning the other guards aren't much better than him.

Kg has always been a very capable shooter, so why is it such a suprise that he outshot anyone in the nba for a single drill.
Hmm......PFs who can shoot the 3. Ever heard of Dirk Nowitzki? He is the best 3pt shooter on that team besides Jason Terry. A lot of big guys shoot 3s. Vladimir Radmonovic also shoots 3s. Tim Duncan is a good shooter. I mean the man shouldn't be that far away from the post but has a good range. Brad Miller is REALLY good at shooting the 3. I hadn't notice him before for his range but he can shoot the lights out. That's a good threat for the Kings.
