The Clippers have not given up on Livingston, so this is a b.s. rumor. However, if the Clippers continue to lose and Iverson is available they might get desperate enough to deal for him.
I've been calling this deal for a long time now, way before these latest Iverson headlines. There was a rumor awhile back that Iverson wanted to be a Clipper and that it was all but done, but he decided to stay in Philly instead. It makes a lot of sense for the Clippers to do this. Iverson and Brand is a small/big duo that could dominate teams all night long. Brand isn't greedy, he could easily co-exist with Iverson.
On the radio today, they said Clipper fans are demanding Elgin Baylor to trade for Iverson, even if it means giving up on Livingston. Mike Dunleavy Sr. said he's more than capable of coaching Iverson and dealing with his persona. They mentioned having two respected leaders in Brand and Cassell, would also be a benefit in handling Iverson. An Iverson v. Kobe rival in LA is great press.
I doubt if the Clippers are willing to give up Livingston. A backcourt of Iverson and Cassell would be pretty small and poor on defense.

It'd be interesting to see Allen play for the Clippers, I don't think this puts the Clippers over the hump though. They wouldn't be contenders.
on a cold pizza interview this morning.. a sports radio guy from philly said clippers are actually a front runner because they are the only team right now offering a first round pick included in a package which important to them..I doubt we will see iverson in a clippers uniform only because everybody knows he just wants to WIN and as well all know the clippers are not a team that is highly known for that although the past year they've shown progress. Also iverson has shown no interest in moving west(golden state, sacramento).
Clippers won't give up Livingston, at least not easily. Even think of it logically, Cassell and Iverson is the worst defensive backcourt in the league by far. If the Clippers trade for AI, Cassell is likely going too. Also even if Mobley and AI start, Cassell still has to play, Iverson and Cassell will have to play together in the backcourt at some point in time, and that would be disgusting on defense.
I wouldn't do this if I were the Clipps, but that's just me. Iverson only has a few good years left in him, and who knows what kind of issues he'd cause in the backcourt. Cassell would be EXTREMELY unhappy if he were to lose his starting job after resigning with the Clipps, so that'd be an issue they'd have to deal with. Plus, where would the defense be? Livingston is the only decent defender they have in the backcourt as it is, and if they trade him, they have really no backcourt defense. I think trading for him would cause way more issues than what it'd solve.
There was a twist to this deal in today's Iverson rumor mill. The Clippers would actually end up with Mike Bibby and Kenny Thomas, Kings end up with Iverson, and Philly ends up with Livingston and CMaggs. The Clippers feel they need a shakeup, and assuming they can re-sign, this deal isn't too bad a deal for them. Bibby-Brand is a legit duo.
I wouldnt give up livingston...though he is a little inconsistent with his play i think livingstion is the next great PG
