http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/02/25/luke-bracey-cast-as-johnny-utah-in-point-break-remake Australian actor Luke Bracey, perhaps best known for his performance in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, is taking on the role made famous by Keanu Reeves in the remake of Point Break. Bracey will play Johnny Utah, an FBI agent who goes undercover to infiltrate a gang of fast-living bank robbers (in the original they were surfers, now they're "extreme sports" enthusiasts.) He will star opposite Gerard Butler, who is taking on the role of Bodhi originated by the late Patrick Swayze. Veteran cinematographer Ericson Core (Payback, The Fast and the Furious) is set to direct. Besides his role as Cobra Commander in Retaliation, 24-year old Bracey has also appeared in the 2010 Selena Gomez romantic comedy Monte Carlo, and like many of Australia's brightest stars (Heath Ledger, Chris Hemsworth, Isla Fisher et al) once had a reoccurring role in Aussie soap opera Home and Away.
Why???? Point Break is a spectacular cult classic that managed to be a good watch even with Reeves and Lori Petty playing main roles.
