After losing their second main event in a month (Aldo/Mendes, JJ/Gusto) the UFC has moved to try and placate some disappointed fans by re-signing Nick Diaz to a three-fight contract. Diaz has been out for 16 months since fighting Georges St-Pierre for the title at UFC 158. The status of Nate Diaz is still up in the air.
Pretty much down for Diaz vs. anyone right now. Fans are pushing for Diaz/Spider but AS won't be back until at least February per the latest.
Also with all the guys getting busted for PED's lately you'd think Dana wouldn't be wearing a Bigfoot shirt.
Stoked. Always been a Diaz fan. Hes always fun to watch fight. Ridiculous not having him on the roster when the UFC has been struggling to keep decent cards together. Dude can draw viewers and will always come to fucking FIGHT.
Nick is my favourite fighter to watch. I hope they get him some good fights. Wouldn't shock me if there were few welterweights willing to fight him, though.
And with rumors swirling that Dana is going to announce, possibly as early as today, a big co-main event for JBJ/DC event.
It's already loaded.... JBJ/DC McGregor/Poirer Cruz makes his return Kennedy/Romero Cote/Thompson I can't wait...
And rumor has it UFC is in negotiations with Bellator to purchase the contract of Eddie Alvarez and will match him up with Donald Cerrone on this card as well!
