Washington Wizards: The Wizards are one of the most talented high scoring teams lead by Gilbert Arenas whose having a career season. Their starting 5 composed of young players playing in their peak. Which means they have athleticism and talent to run over teams. Although that abilities didn't convert to many wins, they have at least a decent record gathering the 5th spot in the east. The acquisition of Butler and Daniels complemented very well with Daniels playing in peak form after a dissappointing performance in the first half of the season. Meanwhile Jamison is almost averaging double-doubles. The Wizards second unit led by Daniels are hardworking role players who does their job night in and night out.

Houston Rockets: If the Rockets were playing in the East they would just be a game and a half out of the playoff spot. Unfortunately they belong to the most competetive division. Although they could still vie for the last playoff spot if they win all their remaining games, it remains to be a long shot and an impossible task considering they are playing undermanned and undersized without TMac to lead them. Yao Ming continues to play beyond expectations and could have a chance for the Most Improved Player only if he had been healthy for the season. Yao would need such a strong performance from Howard,Alston,Bogans,Head and Swift if they want to finish decently.

The last time these two teams met the Rockets have one of their best shooting night led by TMAc to beat the Wizards with score of 123-111. Arenas have scored an impressive 44 points that game but they weren't enough to earn a win. This time it will be Yao's turn to lead the Rockets. In order to win tonight, stopping and containing Arenas will be the Rockets primary assignment. The Rockets are playing undersized except in the PF and Center position. Luther Head will have his hands full against the towering Jared Jefferies while Bogans can held his own against Butler. It will be Alston who will have the most difficult task at all guarding the talented Arenas who can score anywhere from the field. The Wizards are playing on a hot streak right now going 7-3 in the last 10 while the Rockets have the opposite going 3-7 in the last 10. Winning back to back home games will be a challenging one for the Rockets. Washington Wizards will have an advantage courtesy of their more stable line-ups but if the Rockets will have hot hands just like the last game they might steal this game away. Tanking the season would be better for the Rockets but Jeff Van Gundy wants his team to play as hard as they can that he's(jokingly with some seriousness) willing to trade his next year contract for a win.

Maybe we're winning our second straight game! Up 70-59 in the third, and Yao already has 24 and 8. Head and Alston also are having good games, and we've held Gilbert Arenas to just 5-15 shooting.

I sense a 10-1 run coming up to end the season at .500 and fall one game short of the playoffs. [IMG]

JVG is really making me mad. Hes giving frahm and brunson minutes, but lately ive seen no time at all for hayes. He either is tryin to keep teamsfrom seeing his potential, or is basically a dumbass.

Hayes has got 2 PFs ahead of him in the rotation, but we're thin in the backcourt so Frahm and Brunson are getting minutes.

I'd like to see Hayes get more minutes as much as anyone, but unless JVG is willing to bench either Howard or Swift he's probably not going to being seeing any consistent minutes.

Hayes needs to work hard in the offseason on developing a solid mid-range jumper, and then the Rockets won't have an excuse not to play him.

As for the game, wins at this point are bittersweet. Great to watch, but afterwards you realize that it's hurting our lottery chances.

Second win in a row for the rockets. Yao had another great game, but did turn the ball over too many times. If the Rockets win the next four games, which I believe is possibe if they continue to play at their current level, than I think they will be back in the playoff race.[IMG] It's a longshot, but I'm going to keep the faith brotha man.

Here are some notes about the game:

    - Luther Head was great, shooting 8-11 (3-4 3pt). Who would have thought that going into the season a rookie would be our second best player on the team this late in the season.

    - Stromile followed the "worst skyhook ever" from last game with another ugly skyhook in this game. This time it only bounced off the top of the backboard once, and it unfortunately did not go in.

    - All starters, excluding Howard, played close to 40 minutes.

    - Yao's two best plays were where as he ran down the court, he bumped into his man and sends him five feet back. One of the two times he got the ball and converted a hookshot.

    - Yao has made all his FT's these last two games. He has made 50 of his last 53.

    - The only players to not miss a FT on the Rockets were the two centers, Yao and Deke.[IMG]

I guess the rockets are making one last push for the playoffs. If they suceed and do well in playoffs this will be one of the greatest runs every if they don't atleast we've developed a never give up mentality.
