He just has a lot of experience with such machinations, and after staring at the board for the past month, he thinks everyone has concluded that nobody better will be around at No. 10 anyway.</div> http://blog.nj.com/netsblast/2008/06/galli...uarantee_1.html ?
I kind of agree that he has no intention of going back to Milan. If he was, then he wouldn't give a hoot who drafted him--his attitude would be VERY different. He is bluffing that he will only play for a few teams; he is trying to leverage his nationality. As I said before: I think it is a stupid game.
i dont kno... but if it were for me... id just love to play in the nba... its like what joba said... when he got his pay raise... the check is just a bonus... he just loves playin baseball... i wish everybody was like that when they got to do something that is so fun as a career...

but this is the nba... the best players in the world are here... no offense on any other league but this is the nba... !!! id take the pay cut to play in the nba

You're a fan of the NBA, not every player is.
"I think Jersey has given him a guarantee," the agent said. "Though it's more like, 'If you're still around at 10, we'll take you.' Just to keep him in it, a promise that they're not going to pass on him." What other kind of guarantee could they give him?
There's really no news here. Dave D just asked some agent what his thoughts were. As he said, he had nothing factual, and was just speaking logically. Well jeeze, every person on this site figured that him staying in the draft meant he had a guarantee, but that was just our speculation. What does have some stock is this report from Chad Ford <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>But as of Sunday, two sources, one close to each team, said they told Tellem they were not willing to commit to drafting him.</div> Link
y would a 19 year old bball player with no exp playin in the nba dictate a guarantee? i just dont get it... i believe the bucks shoulda passed on yi last year... no reason for them to bend backwards for a player... u should never let a player get bigger than the franchise... look what happened with us and kidd... gettin scott fired... who was such a better coach than frank :/
There's no way I'd give this guy a guarrantee. The way I see it, his upside is approximately Boki Nachbar. . . . who we probably wouldn't resign if Dani was drafted. WTF! Boki could probably be signed for not much more than the #10 pick would get anyway.
ya but boki cant hit open shots i love his intensity and his effort and hustle, but he has to be able to make open shots! he needs too for us to succeed... remember when kvh was on the team with kidd ? he hit open shots so did kittles and lucious harris! ahaha
Shouldn't it tell you guys something that teams with the #3, #5 and #7 picks are all dying to work this kid out? Take a look at his website, danilogallinari.it. He wants to work in the world media capital for a reason. He is about the whole marketing package. He is sold as a sex symbol in Italy, a male model who favors Armani clothes. BUT he is also a solid 19 year old prospect. A draft in which the Nets got him and Hickson would be a great draft. Both will be ready a lot sooner than most of the other guys who have been in: Jordan, Randolph, Lopez, McGee, etc., etc.
The thing I like most about his game is that he is a point forward. I think we all saw at the end of last year that Harris can be a real scorer. Having 3 playmakers on the floor (Harris, Carter, Gallinari) would create a lot of good opportunities for everyone. I for one am extremely tired of watching everyone ride the potential/athleticism train. Gallinari seems fairly polished. I subscribe to Gallinari at 10, a big with a good work ethic at 21, and then a project / eurostash in the 2nd round.

It also doesn't seem like he would be able to keep up with Devin Harris, so we'll be faced with another season of the "one-man fast break." Is this what you want?

He'll probably be polished scorer who can make shots off others' creation but I'd worry about his ability to be a primary scorer. If he proved me wrong against NBA draft competition, I'd be more convinced. Since he doesn't project as a great defender, I have my doubt.
