Apparantly, Scanlon has been tearing it up for the Berlin Thunder in NFL Europe. He is the leagues leading tackler. I know the competition is not as stiff as in the NFL, but any growth from a defensive player (especially a LB) is a plus for the Chiefs right now. Here's a link, in case anyone is interested:

What do you think about us grabbing Biesel from you guys? Personally I wouldn't be shocked if belichick molds him into a stub MLB by next season but at the very least he'll be a big ST teams and depth guy at inside and out.

So many teams have been burned by putting too much stock into good performances in NFL-Europe, that I wouldn't get overly excited. That said, I've seen him play, and his leadership, intensity, and attitude appear to be impressive.

I think what a good performance in Europe tells you is that you should give the guy a chance in training camp to be a player. This guy appears to qualify and should be given a chance to compete for the starting position.

On the other hand, a poor performance in Europe should be a ticket to the free-agency list or the practice squad at best.

Beisel was a great special teams player. I hated to lose him in that area. His LB play, though had been average at best. I wish you guys luck with him though. I don't hold any grudges. I hope he can become a solid contributor under Belichick's leadership.
