there's no way they're gonna snub Shaedon this year. Sharpe is straight getting results this season.
    current sophomore Sharpe stats:
17.7ppg, 5.6 reb, 3.4 ast, 1.1 stl, while showing gritty toughness. Shaedon is #3 in NBA minutes, has played all 19 games.

now the interesting question is... does Scoot or Toumani have a chance to make the All-Rookie team? While their offense stats are a bit muted, they're both playing good defense. There's still a ton of games left until All-Star weekend. If Camara & Henderson start having big nights, will the ballot committee grant them tickets to the festivities in Indiana ??

All three should be in the rising stars game.

I don’t think either will make it. I haven’t paid too much attention to the other rookies, but I did see something about how 14/30 rookies this year have been assigned to the GL at one point in the season, so mayyybe Scoot might? It all depends—if the class has been that bad, he has a shot, if it isn’t, he might not.

Personally, I don’t think even they would care about the game. Camara may care a little, as he is a late 2nd rounder and it would be really cool for Belgium as a country to tune into Friday night. It’s always cool hearing stories about an entire country like Spain going out of their way to watch both Gasols play when they were in the finals (there are plenty of Belgium fans who ask the Blazers subreddit about the general opinion on Camara, because he’s been the only guy to be excited about over there apparently lol). Scoot has been in the game before, and I don’t know if Shae is going to care that much about it. It would’ve been cool for him to make it last year because no one expected him to even crack the rotation last season. This year, he knows 100% he’s in the game through 1/4 of the season. So, cool, but he knew he was in the game.

When I was in my teens watching Dame and Aldridge, I wanted to watch these guys show out on the big stage and possibly win MVP of the game, so I’d watch almost everything on the weekend. These days, I don’t care or even watch any of the events live, I’ll just watch a highlight clip.

The NBA should start an in-season tournament to see who plays in the Rising Stars Game.

    Sharpe and Camara--in
    Scoot--out.

Not a prediction, just an opinion

How much of that have you actually thought through? Lol.

You’re going to make rookies and sophomores travel away from their teams to compete in a meaningless tournament where the award is to play in the pointless weekend? Or are the rookies competing with their NBA teams, and the team success is what gains you entry into the rising stars game? If it’s the latter, consider this: I’m not tuning in to watch Nikola Jovic play in the game just because the Heat won a tournament lol.

A game where the participants are based on merit is fine. And every year, there will be winners and losers. In the case of the rising stars game, not AS game, RISING STARS game, who cares?

I can remember Mitchell winning MVP of one of those. And Drummond. I think Jamal Murray? I couldn’t tell you 75% of those rosters. A lot of good rookies and sophomores have terrible careers. Did Jahlil Okafor play in the game? He averaged like 16 and 10 or something as a rookie.

nice post BankTeller. It reminded me to hit rewind and check the last Blazer invited to Rising Stars game. Take a guess...... ya, it's been 10 years, an entire decade! The last cool Blazer rookie/sophmore to be showcased was Damian Lillard in the 2013-14 season.

gimmeny christmas, what the heck was Olshey doing in that front office?!? Leveling up his Ogre in World of Warcraft, and not paying attention to basketball?

No travel, we make the rookies and sophomores do Trial By Combat at halftime during games.

LOLOL. Okay, well that’d certainly be fun to see a one on one game or something like that for a little while, it sounds like a novelty idea though. Thing is, I don’t see any NBA coach wanting their players spending energy during half time. Even if it’s just 4-5 games a year, it doesn’t make that much sense.

It takes the specialness of making the game. A true vet would tell that rookie “yo don’t be going that hard, remember this game doesn’t matter” and stuff like that. At least, that’s what I’d want my vets to do. I still think the production matters and should be the biggest factor in making the game, and I wouldn’t want a guy like Jaden Hardy to make it over Walker Kessler just because he wins a game of one on one.

The NCAA Football tournament is literally based on a committee determining the four best teams in the country to compete for it. Some teams feel like they should’ve made it every year.

So was I. Again, do you think Hardy deserves a spot on the team just because he kills Kessler? What if Hardy had a bat, and Kessler just had a shank? Even if Hardy is smaller, the longer melee weapon wins I feel like. Also speed, Kessler will not keep up with Hardy.

Even if Kessler dies against Hardy, I think his stats and contributions to his team are better. The game is going to be filled with these living rookies and sophomores that don’t deserve it. Yeah I don’t like this idea, I don’t like this one bit.

All in. Why? Because we just watched the trial by combat that sentenced Tyrian to death last night. Gruesome scene! Wife and i are watching GOT for the second time and that's right where we were at last night.
    Eerie, eye poppin’ timing!

Any response with a GOT reference gets a like.
This goes for Star Trek and Star Wars as well.
